I don’t disagree with this. But you comparing it to the NBA where multi year contracts are signed and college basketball is 1 year options.

Right, in other words, it's a sh!t show

DC over on HSN posted that he heard that there is a possibility that MW retires after next year's season. He mentioned that QB's term is up as Trustee Chair and they may plan to go out together..... I don't know, but I'm totally ok with that.

I could see that.
in that case it’s all in next year, $$$, portal, bring back our quality talent and play/coach with your hair on fire for five months

This is how it works at (almost) all universities that aren't named "Indiana"... and Berghoff is correct that Indiana's leadership is completely built on a house of cards... and when it crashed to the ground, they just stack the cards back up and do it again. Remember the definition of insanity? It's doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting different results.

Figured this was common practice at most universities, at least at the ones who care anyway, still shocking to hear once you realize it's amateur hour at the university we all love and support.

Regardless, I think we achieved something here. We didn't get what we wanted but you have to admit the fan pressure has rejuvenated Woodson and the team a bit. He is showing more emotion on the sideline and the players seem to be playing harder. If it truly led to the ultra rich boosters pledging more money to the NIL? That's a win. Maybe Scott's player only meeting was to make them aware of that, hence Chris' comments about the discussion involved other schools reaching out to them. If he can retain the "good" nucleus of this team and actually go get some high level guards, I think most would have a hard time saying they are not excited next year.

Good news? This theory will get put to test very soon.

Man, I can't see how we don't land a couple of stud guards from the portal after the season. Perception everywhere is that our weakness is guard play. People see how well we play the inside game. Keep the core together and with our NIL package we should be able to draw some interest.

He couldnt get guards last spring what makes you think he can now? His style is the exact same

I’m still upset after yesterday. The smoke could be seen from Brown County. Dolson must’ve gotten pressured to leak that to Zach yesterday.

Nonetheless, I still think we’ll see some kids leave. Ware to the NBA. Mack will get paid elsewhere at a better program.

Don't know if we will or won't land great guards, but college basketball media was slamming CMW comment about college being played inside-out. Also, he doesn't appear to run a guard-friendly offense. There's little movement, CMW has been said to not like his team shooting many threes, because he plays with two bags that clogs the lane for guards.

In some ways I can't see how CMW can land amazing guards unless it's through overwhelming NIL deals.

This admin could save themselves a lot of trouble if they would just finally admit winning isn’t a priority for them. It’s clear, but they like to pretend they care about championships.

They 1)hired Mike Woodson and 2)refused to fire him when they should have. They haven't admitted that winning isn't a priority? Protecting their friend's feelings is more important to them.

I believe this is referred to putting lipstick on a pig.  Beating three bad teams does not cover up the flaws in the program and coaching.  Please take your triple rainbows to another thread.
Twitter is where he should go they are ready to give Woodson an extension for beating minnesota and Marland.

But it's fun to smoke cigars with him after games and share stories
So save $ and fly him in from wherever after every game and do that. The short-sighted approach this administration is taking makes me sad. IU has fallen so far in the CBB hierarchy and is committed to continuing the downward trajectory. I will spend nothing on merch, tix or anything else that can help them suffocate the program I've loved. As for watching....if I have nothing better to do I may watch a game. I mean doing dishes, cleaning gutters and punching myself in the throat will all qualify as something better to do.

If the Simons did pay up Mack may get more here than anywhere else

Because they don't want to just feed the post? The offense is boring by design and I don't know if many guards will want to play that style.

Think of all the stud coaches we missed out in because our administration is incompetent.

Matta
Beilein
Steven's
Dusty May up next on the list.

You gotta be beyond incompetent to miss out of all of them.

Just imagine if we used the full extent of Ware's skillset this year.

That's one of the things about this year that most upsets me. He should be putting on a show in the tournament.

Oh please! Last year Oregon got nothing out of Ware save for frustration and sadness.

We have used Ware's full skillset this year, and he's gotten better and better as the year has gone on:
