Post-game Woody said no big deal and would expect to pay against Marian.  BUT, today I've seen reports he is on crutches and the dreaded 4-letter word --  boot.
Hopefully those reports are false

He was at a restaurant after the game in the "thing that shall not be named." The poster said Sparks says he is good and it is only precautionary.

The defense in the first half was lacking in effort at times and McKenzie lost his man more than a couple times He'll get better with the threat of the bench as a motivator. That's a luxury we have this season. The second unit out hustled them in my opinion. Woody had a little talk with the starters and they picked it up in the second.

The bench is really deep and that was without Banks who I expect to play a lot this season.

Banks is the one I’m most excited for this season for some reason.

We should be taking at least 15 a game.

That’d be fine as a floor but not nearly enough as a goal, imo.

For reference we took 15.2 last year and finished 352nd in Div 1 in attempts—nearly dead last.

Just by way of example, Arizona took 22.3 and finished 149th in Div 1–so slightly above average. Miami shot 20.4.

Those numbers are going to be affected by pace, but we’re not that slow. We just need to shoot a lot more threes.

I'm worried after hearing Woodson talk about it last night that he's too stubborn to change too much.

Here is his quote

"Guys, I'm not going to sit here and say we're going to be the greatest 3-point shooting team. We're gonna make some here and there, and we're gonna get good looks. And I think we have guys that I feel good about knocking them down. But make no mistake about it, the game ain't just about living on three-pointers."

- "You're going to have to post the ball some. I mean, two-pointers still count in basketball. Let's not be foolish about this."

- "I've got a 7-2 guy (Kel'el Ware). Hell, I want him out just shooting 3-point shots? No, that's not going to happen with me. Yes, he can pick and pop -- Trayce, he couldn't do that, he didn't want to do that. I though he could do it, he just didn't do it. But he was still great for us"

- "Hey, if getting 50 points in the paint allows us to to win a game, I'm going to take it. I'm not going to let people dictate this team"

I saw another quote where he basically said take them if they come but it's not really a point of emphasis.

He wants to play inside out and fast break, that’s obvious.  He wants guys to shot fake the 3 opportunities and drive it to the basket.  The offense we seen last year will be the same offense this year with the exception that he will allow his 7’2” center shoot an occasional 3 and a few mid range jumpers on pick and pop opportunities.

Depends on the lineup on the court imo. If X Gallo Cupps gets run like Coach talked about last night, that moves Mgbako to the 4 and either Ware/Reneau at 5. In that lineup we will see much more 3's than with any other lineup we have. I wouldn't be surprised for IU to average 12-15 3's per game in B1G

See @str8baller's post above. 12-15 3's per game is not very many and would be the same or less than was shot by last year's team. Or do you mean 12-15 3's made per game?

No, I didn't see @str8baller post. Sorry to repeat. I don't mean 3's made per game - but hope I am wrong!
