Major major weekend for the future of IU hoops. Sounds like IU is certainly the favorite for Liam. Would be surprised if he commits after the visit. Sounds like he wants to take the Texas visit and announce right before the season. I know the staff will do all they can to get him this weekend. The sooner he commits, the better I feel about Queen. Sounds like IU is up there with Houston and Maryland for him. Houston actually worries me a little more than Maryland in that battle. Not sure about Givens. Wonder if he is just there to visit with his teammates. I know he had IU in his top 7. He's certainly a take but obviously the #1 option is Fland who is likely to visit.

The thing I'm most happy about is this staff's ability to get guys to campus. Offers are great. Visiting them at their school/home is great. But, you have to get them on campus. I saw a stat where this '24 class is by far the most top 50 visits IU has had pretty much ever in the rankings era. I feel you HAVE to at least get 2-3 of these guys. Liam is a start. Potentially add Queen with another guard in this class and you have to feel good. Hope guys like Banks/Gunn/Reneau can take a huge step forward and become a nice veteran core with this group next year.

Man…. We really need that one domino to fall. Once that happens, it feels like the floodgates will open.

How I've felt since June. If Liam is the first one you have to think IU becomes the favorite with Queen. One thing we can all trust this staff with, we know they are going full court press on a commitment this weekend.

I see Liam as a 2-3 year guy and Queen as a 3-4 year player. Both are two of your major building blocks to becoming a National Title Contender.

Derik Queen is a top 10 player in his class and is not projected to be a multi year college player.

Why do you say that? Haven’t seen anything to suggest he is projecting to the NBA.

Fair enough— restated:

He may not be a one and done, but the overwhelming majority of top ten ranked players believe that they are in their own mind.
