The worst part of this is that he went on Outkick with Dakich

I was honestly surprised that of all the Monday morning interview requests he likely received, DD is one he felt he needed to do.

But hey, it got me to tune into DD for the first time in years, so smooth move on DD's part.

My two cents worth is I’m enjoying the hell out of how FAU plays the game and works together.  Those aren’t five star recruits.  Says a hella lot about the coaching and it’s pretty cool he’s got a big Indiana background!  I’m wishing him well.

Sure would be fun to see the two Florida teams play Monday night!

Just watched Coach May on Dan Dakich, here's a few notes.

-Dude is an extremely likable guy, very charismatic and upbeat. No doubt a players coach.

-Clearly is very fond of his time at IU and the state of Indiana in general.

-He will forever be a student of the game. Always is reading and watching and learning something new about the game.

-Tells the players "if you do what we tell you to do then the wins are yours and the losses are ours (coaches)". Says he got that from one of Dean Smith's books.

-After the interview was over, Dakich says that "Woodson will probably be out of there in a year or two and they should hire him (Dusty)... I'd hire him right now".

I really liked that they spoke about what made Brad Stevens so successful in terms of having EVERYONE, even the Janitors on the same page moving together towards a common goal, and I loved Dusty's comment about open mic nights

Let’s see Boca Raton or Bloomington?

Having been in both so so many times, I very much prefer Bloomington. It’s not really a close call. I’m not a beach guy, but then again, neither is Dusty May.

Boca Raton means mouth of the rat.  It is on Florida's east coast and there are pros and cons.  Lack of income taxes, warm to hot weather year around and some access to beaches are great.  But there are not a lot of young-adult activities.  The pronounced lack of diversity is noted.

We all know the pros and cons of B'town.  Remember, selling a state university outside of the state gets quite competitive.  Young adults look at things differently than I would.  Young adult elite basketball players would bring some personal perspectives, needs and wants.  Looking at the head coach, the personal connections, the potential for improvement, method of play, nationwide exposure, the competition, the team, the facilities, the culture, the fit, the amenities, and the education(?)...  To me, whether the prospect likes big cities on the coast or medium-sized college towns in the Midwest are huge factors.  And is the central USA considered just fly-over between the coasts?  But, maybe not the most important.
