I’m about 65!  I’ve come to the realization we aren’t going to win #6 in my lifetime. That sucks by the way!  Sorry for you younger guys. It was fun back in the day!

I think #6 will come eventually, but then again, I’ve only seen IU make Sweet 16s live (I was like 6 or 7 during the 2002 run).

I'm 74 and still waiting and hoping. Odds are against us but you never know. At least we were able to see historic greatness in our lifetime. Hang in there, brother.

I just opened this thread for the first time.  It's AWESOME.

As the guy who understood Archie's failures more than anybody I can tell you that Dusty is no Archie.  Hire him as a coach in waiting right now and NIL the hell out of him.

I think he is our future!  Look what he has done with 2-3 star unranked players.  The man has got it!

I’m in my 40’s and would say its probably 50/50 on seeing another title. IU has just been an awfully incompetent organization.

I’d love nothing more than for May to be the 2nd coming of Knight and want to come home. What are the odds tho?

One of the guys on Indy radio knows him and talks to him. I’m sorry, I can’t remember for sure which one. Anyway, he made it clear that Dusty isn’t sitting around waiting for IU to call, but also said he was sure he would listen sometime in the future, if the timing was right.

In my opinion, his style needs time to learn and buy in by his players. I’m not sure that many on here would be patient enough because we’re probably not getting the best recruits and all the shiny new objects every year. He does seem like the type of coach who is willing to adapt to his players strengths, but that also doesn’t necessarily lend itself to a constant churn at the top end of the roster.

His team is definitively fun to watch and I was surprised by how talented they were, because all I ever read was they don’t have top end talent. They are also very disciplined and fundamentally sound, which I think makes them look more talented than maybe they really are. Just watching their positioning on D and not falling for every fake by the other team was really fun to see.

What do they say? Tough times create strong men, strong men create great times, great times create weak men, weak men create tough times.

Seems like we are tough times era…

To say Indiana is incompetent organizationally is an understatement. Although micro changes have occurred. New president, new AD, new coach, I still believe there needs to be some accountability in the athletic department.

Speaking of the last shot

One of the refs missed an FAU player blatantly dribble the ball on the line before calling a foul then reviewing the elbow in the gut. Somehow being the last second they aren't still reviewing this like the Zapruder film.

I read the concerns in this thread about a one-liner from Mike Woodson saying, "I'm not sure how long I'll be doing this, but..."

Is this the only reference where this "he might be looking to leave sooner than anticipated" is coming from, or is there more to it and has Woodson openly mentioned anything about retiring before his contract is up?

Because in my eyes (ears), "I came here to get Indiana back on top...I'm not sure how long I'll be doing this but..." is Woodson saying he's not sure how long it will take, but he still has one goal in mind and hopes it can happen before he's done.  Maybe he's been grumbling harder this year than ever before, like Chris mentioned, and maybe there's more to it, but from this one line I thought nothing of it.  To me, he's just stating the obvious...that he's not sure how long it will take to reach the goal he's set in his mind.  And, as we all know, it may never happen with Woodson at the helm, but to me, he's just saying he still has his sights set on something and I don't foresee him bailing out before the contract expires...unless they have a couple awful seasons and he sees the best thing he can do for getting Indiana back is to step down.  Indiana isn't there yet, so I wouldn't expect him to be leaving anytime soon, regardless of a one-line comment on the fly during an interview.

Has anyone seen Dusty May on campus today? I got a message from someone saying they thought they saw him at 17th & Dunn. It could be true since he has kids college age or just coming home for a visit. But didn't hear anyone say anything about it.

Is this real or are you making fun of the Billy Donovan spotting in bloomington crowd? Also - Was it ever confirmed one way or the other if that ever happened?
