Have you spoken to Quinn Buckner? He loved this hire along with Isiah.

Quinn, Scott, and Terri need to sit him down & say you don't need this anymore. You don't need the long hours, the plane trips, the AAU tournaments. Spend the rest of the time rooting on the next coach, playing golf, smoking cigars, sipping wine, and enjoying your new grandbaby. Thos are the only people he is going to listen to, along with his daughters.

I agree and like your line of thinking just don’t think May and Buckner will do it unless things fall completely off the rails.

Woodson would probably need to give his blessing to the next head coach.

You can't let the inmates run the asylum.  That's how we got Mike Davis and not Rick Pitino.  You do what is best for the program. Period.

Again…I’m not happy with the job Woodson has done…but this is a lot more complicated than just letting him go.

There was a Rant train starting up last year too then we started to play well and win.  Anyone remember when we got going last year?

I remember us struggling with the same things we do now, too. Can’t guard the 3 point line. Tendency to get blown out in losses. Didn’t shoot a lot of 3’s. Offensive rebounding struggles.

That’s some of the problem. not much has changed from last year. Then we had the raw talent to overcome it. Do we this year?

I want to like these guys.  I want to love our team.  But it’s hard to do that with a poor team executing so terribly.  Its instinct to place blame. And EVERYONE DESERVES IT!  I don’t know what’s going on with this group but things just aren’t jiving.   Galloway’s shooting ability/confidence is some of the worst I’ve seen from a SG at the level of the BIG.  Being a 50% free throw shooter on a large sample is baffling.

It’s such a frustrating and hard to watch team besides the alley oops to Ware and a lot  of the work from Reneau.   Mgbako is now missing free throws and making silly unfocused plays.

I think we do have some great dudes on this team personally, but the on the court stuff is as bad as I’ve seen.

What is sad is that Reneau has turned into a really good player.  Ware, while inconsistent, has been a good pickup.  Walker has been better than I thought he he would be.  But it’s not a good team.  And some of the guys with the most effort are getting the worst results.

i don’t know what’s going on with Galloway.  No clue.  But if you are going to bench for effort, he’s not the guy to bench.  And there simply aren’t guys behind him that are providing much more so you are kind of stuck in just hoping he plays through it and turns his results into more what they were last year.

Sky might be falling but I agree with you, I want a fun modern offense with lots of shooters

I think Dolson skipped over the part of Woodson being the defensive assistant coach the last eight years!

True, but the program is bigger and more complex than just a coach.  Support (or lack thereof) of the powers that be can go a long way towards success and failure.  Hopefully, Dolson had the conversation during the hiring about Woody retiring "on top" or something.  Whether this year or next, I for one would like to see a smooth coach to coach transition.

Yeah I don't think he gets fired this year either, no matter what.
People need to realize our program has improved since he's gotten here.
We missed out on the NCAAT like 5 years in a row, then brings us back in his first 2 years.
We may not like the ceiling right now, but he has raised the floor.
Yeah but in this day and age thats not super impressive given he started with a fully intact roster and tjd. Yes he is better than archie but this was no tom crean rebuild. I think he gets way too much credit for the last two years. If anything last years team underperformed.

That's cause he is his buddy. 90% of us may hate it but as long s Quinn and may are happy that's all that matters. Tats no recipe for success.

That is the ultimate characteristic of long term successful coaches.  very few and far between.
Woodson likely will not change. He is a 40 year nba guy.

I'll be honest I haven't seen the movie guess I need to.

It is definitely a great movie.  Jack Nicholson is my favorite crazy person.  It has some great twists.  Great characters.  Great story...

Nurse Rachet is a hoot.

The baseball game is over the top.

It is a must see.  Do not read any spoilers.  It is too good getting surprised on every turn.

Enjoy.

Jack Nicholson was in Easy Rider. His breakout role. That one is different...but a very good movie.  Not for everyone.

Good question and as soon as I typed that I figured someone would ask. I think a good AD should always have a top 5 list with every sport and make sure it is an ever-changing list. First off I'm not on the Chris Beard train. I just don't think you should ever lay your hands on a woman. I can't get over that part just yet. I believe in second chances but not so soon.

Bruce Pearl is on my list

Micah Schrewsberry is on my list

Dusty May

I'm still willing to throw out huge money at Brad Stevens

I'm not sure what the other one is right now. It's not Scott Drew, or Porter Mosier

But remember I'm just a nobody posting on a message board.

Bruce Pearl would kill it here and it would be immediate.

Not taking a position one way or another on Pearl but I do find it mildly amusing that many thought Woody was too old - he's now 65 - but would embrace Pearl who is 63.
I really don't want an older coach however you can't blame them or compare those two coaches imo. Woodson had zero college coaching experience. Pearl has a resume. I am not writing Woodson off yet and praying for the best but has a major d 1 basketball program ever hired a nba guy only?
