Alford Bailey Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 We will fill open spots. Lots of lesser talented kids will jump at a B1G offer. Same with coaches. Most of this staff will struggle to get better opportunities. Quote
Josh Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 I have no interest in watching an iu football game next year. The only thing that could change that is firing Tom Allen. go iu bb, Crimson and Cream, Hoosierfan2017 and 1 other 4 Quote

I don’t know, maybe there’s a guy who would find a basically blank slate appealing. Not sure who that guy would be, but you can bet they would require some world class job protection written into that deal. He'll need a MASSIVE buyout Hovadipo and Demo 1 1 Quote

Always a few additions between May and August, but a majority of next year’s team should have about 5-6 months together before the season starts. Do you think it will matter? Honest question and not being snarky. Quote
IU Scott Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 I think we all need to lead a campaign and contact Dolson about our displeasure with the football program. This is a dumpster fire and it is going to cost the program by keeping him more than the buyout. Quote

Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Y'all remember that time we were 6-1 after beating Wisconsin... Good times... We've won 2 conference games since then. Quote
TTT Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 There are going to be many great opportunities for mid major college football players at IU in the near future. IU will field a pretty good Mac conference or mid major football team. The 2023 season may equal less wins than 2022 season. There is 0 hope in sight. Quote

The only 2 winnable games I see are ISU and Akron. The notable changes to the schedule are Uof6 who had a week in the top 25 to end the year and Wisconsin and we've seen how well we've played a Fickell team the last 2 years. Quote
Stuhoo Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 I guess at this point the reason for hope is that things have gotten bad enough to force change, maybe sooner rather than later. Quote
TTT Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 This situation lends itself to a beaten down coach and (staff) regardless of money. In reality, there is hardly any where to go or hope for any success. There are many examples in all sports. An example is Bill Lynch. However, after transition period into a new situation and opportunity coaches move on and recover a sense of synergy. This will go well for T.A. because he is and will be on very very very very securely solid financial ground continuing in coaching if he desires or another opportunity. T.A. is low performance and very high reward kind of guy as a head coach in big ten. Much talk and exterior enthusiasm. Can anyone say LEO? IU hired a defensive coach who had some success at the college level that was a high school head coach that was 8 wins 3 losses for a season in Florida…then 25 wins and 12 losses at Ben Davis in Indianapolis as a head coach….Not a Gerry Faust type resume. American HoosierX Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 At the end of the day, the good news is that we're in the Big Ten. When Allen does inevitably get the axe, we have the resources that an up and coming coach should find appealing. go iu bb 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 And another one gone, and another one gone, and another one bites the dust. Our roster seems to be suffering from a very acute case of diarrhea. Quote

IUFB doesn’t have $30 million to fire him. We won’t be able to afford to fire him until after the 2024 season. Our roster may resemble an FCS school by then. If you’re a talented player on IU’s roster as of today, why wouldn’t you flee the sinking ship? You can go anywhere else and play right away. If you’re a high school recruit, why would you join a sinking ship? Quote
