And musical chairs begin…for lack of talent trade-ins. I guess some may stay rather than set out a year due to second transfer. (Sadly, some players may have lost their love for the game and feel like just quitting after just getting pummeled every weekend after putting in all the time and effort). IU has significant football players? The new guy gonna have a big job in front of him either way to be competitive. Rico 1 Quote
Banksyrules Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Listen I understood the contract being offered. IU with a bad history of playing football finds itself in national conversation during covid. Because we were so bad you have to take chances to secure a good coach before he gets snagged somewhere else. I get that. HOWEVER. It didn't work out and quite frankly I would rather employ a genius "student manger" than keep going with a coach that has lost his team and the fans. Everything is dependent on how well the basketball team does these next two years before fire the AD for malpractice. Just fire the guy as a sign of acknowledgment that it was a failed experiment. Not that hard. If they don't fire him, I honestly don't know how they're going to regain the trust of Alumni boosters that they're at least trying to put the best product on the field. Josh 1 Quote
Hoosier987 Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 I mentioned this in the game thread: Allen should donate his salary to DeBoer and Penix. Clearly their talent and coaching overshadowed his inability to run a program. FWHoosier84 1 Quote
cbp4iu Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 If Tom returns how many wins does IU have next year. Quote
WhiteyMcSpeed Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 (edited) At this point, not firing Tom Allen could cost the athletic program more than firing him. If we wait another year the program will be an even bigger rebuild and will be less attractive. Also, we need a national search which means no Carey promotion or Fuente promotion. TTT Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Big winners in the IU football mess Tom Allen the biggest winner given unqualified. Womack great stair stepper DeBeor great staircase Penix great for him (miscellaneous winners are all those who got to work in a field they like and were paid well) Quote

TTT Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 As usual just a total program talent disparity. Quote
IUFootballHappyHappyJoyJoy Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 At this point, I just know he's gone sooner or later; it's up to Indiana to decide if he's worth one more year of this nonsense. My concern is that Indiana will cheap out on the next hire, as always. FWHoosier84 1 Quote

coonhounds Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Swear this dude is tom crean 2.0. Act like a clown on the side line and when things go bad start throwing people under the bus. Which if true means we may be 2 head coaching hires away from a decent one!Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk FWHoosier84 and AZ Hoosier 2 Quote
TTT Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 IU sold out when after that game where the players interrupted post game tv interview happily telling everyone how great of coach T.A. is/was. A win/s in a starved program makes for undisciplined craziness sometimes. T.A. Owes them. FWHoosier84 1 Quote
