Yep, almost 7 fouls per 40 minutes. He did improve some over the course of the season in this aspect but still fouled a lot. He's said he's working on defense a lot during the offseason so being able to defend without fouling is quite likely something he and the coaching staff are concentrating on improving.

Simply becoming a sophomore eliminates a lot of fouls since being a freshman post in the Big is worth at least two fouls per game.

That his foul rate was going to be bad was clear early on, but there's truth in your comment, plus expected growth as a soph and work on perimeter defense has me thinking we'll see at least decent improvement -- he'll stay on the floor longer

Yea, I thought that was a good sign for his chances of nailing down a roster spot. They’re way over the luxury tax too, so having him fill out the roster with a minimum (or near min) salary might help. Hopefully he has a good summer league. 
 

I saw they signed Saric though, so I’d guess he now has an even more uphill battle to any playing time.

I agree it was an issue last year, but I don’t think it’ll be of too much concern this year. He seemed to struggle adjusting to the speed of the game a little bit which is pretty common for freshman. He strikes me as a smart player and has a nice feel for the game, and I think he’ll have a leap mentally. He seemed a little more comfortable towards the end of the year. In any event, he doesn’t need to bring down his foul rate too much to be able to hit 28-30mpg.  
 

If anything, the fit with Ware has the potential to complicate things. But if Reneau is getting the majority of post touches I think he’ll be tough to stop.

Given what a mess Ware was by the end of last season, that kid was broken, if he’s legitimately in the lottery next spring, kids should be taking a number and standing in line to play for Woody.

It's a no-lose, win/win for IU recruiting.

• If he fails? Ware has been the next Skal Labasierre for two teams and is a blip on the radar.
• If he succeeds we now have JHS and Ware as examples that Woody's system is magical for both bigs and guards.

Parker Stewart and Michael Durr played in and lost their first round game In TBT. Both were bad. Durr missed 2 bunnies in Elam ending where I don’t think he jumped an inch.
