On the bolded, I would be absolutely floored if it was that low.  A bodybuilder competing for the Olympia might be higher than that while on stage, and they're typically under 10% on stage.

EDIT: To add, Ronnie Coleman, an 8x Olympia winner, once claimed 3% and that would be extraordinary.

I believe what you're saying. While I was in the Army I was around 11-12.5% and really thought I could've been leaner. Oh well, either way MR looks much more fit. How much of the early semester focuses on S&C once practice starts? Enough for marginal gains? Anyone with S&C insights at IU, please feel free to share - very interested in learning.

He definitely looks in better shape, even accounting for lighting etc. Looks impressive.

I'm not even remotely close to a professional S&C, nutritionist, eg. Was just a guess. Are you saying you believe he is 8%?

I'm not either. But yes, and that was a guess.

If he shed.. 3.5%, that would have put him at over 11% last season, in your original guess he would have been right at 9% last season, and I don't think that is where MR was.

From now until the season, they will be focusing/practicing more on "in-game shape". Basketball is a different animal in terms of conditioning compared to the others sports (I have spoken to many soccer guys, and they even admit there are aspects of basketball that are crazy difficult to condition for/more difficult than even soccer)....

Marginal gains from now until mid-Oct, but they will still "lift" 3-4 times a week during the season. Guys like Gunn, and the FR will "gain" during the season, as I'm sure MR did last year.

Thank you for the substantive response. I really enjoy the clips from off-season, but a vlog or overview of summer program in depth would be AMAZING content.

It would be!  And that stuff is planned/taken every bit as serious as "in season practice" or the preseason.

I'm counting on it.  Kid is talented and IMO needed some or Race's minutes at the end of last year to raise our ceiling.  One of the few guys last year that rebounded out of his area.

I love watching Reneau play.  Most nights he's been the best player on the court.  Glad to see his hard work paying off.  I'm selfish and hope he comes back for one more year before heading to the NBA.

I haven't seen him in any mock drafts.  My fear is players who were highly ranked out of high school often go pro because they feel like they're falling behind their high school/AAU peers.  I hope NIL is good enough to overcome that.
