Yes could be and hope I am. I’m just seeing warning signs that I’m not as willing to give a pass to Woodson on as I was Archie. Woodson seems pretty set in his ways and I thought Archie was young enough to adapt and change. Maybe Woodson will, but the realist in me says we’ll continuously be a bubble or fringe tournament team.

Frustrating for sure.  I haven’t watched an average team win every game they were suppose to win and that’s basically what IU is and has been.   These last 3 games IU has played themselves closer to bubble but they are not there yet.  A teams results don’t happen in a vacuum.  Other teams are winning and losing at the same time and luckily for IU the bubble teams are not making moves.   Now IU will need to snap out of it but as of now IU isn’t on the bubble.   Having 0 Q3 or Q4 losses is like having a an extra Q1 win.   IU doesn’t have a loss outside the top 90.  Bubble teams can’t say the same thing.

Let's hope so because 1) Woody isn't exactly in his prime and 2) I'd hate to see where we go from here. Rome wasn't built in a day but I'm sure a plan was established relatively quickly.

It's just the people who want coach Knight 2.0. The administration at the time didn't want a coach who was bigger than the university. If you think about it, that's a reasonable position. I was there before and after CBK. I appreciated everything he did for IU basketball, but his time and style was and is past. It's hard to embrace the future while constantly looking at the past.

Woodson is the next best thing. Trust me. He’s not the “ahole” Knight was and maybe doesn’t have the basketball knowledge he had, but he has the blood. Woody, as much as I’ll be frustrated with him, will bring IU back. Guaranteed.

I can agree with all of this. It’s just frustrating to watch the same things over and over from coach to coach. Hard to be an optimist when it looks like this year is potentially crashing and burning once again, as I really don’t believe we will be any better next year.

It kinda is. And it is your opinion which you are entirely entitled to. I just see it differently. I'm not going to get into a back and forth on this. You have your take and I have mine. The variety of opinion makes this fun. I tend to come down on the side of the kids unless they do something completely indefensible. For me, this is more than wins and losses. I didn't always feel that way. As I've gotten older and spend most weekends with grandkids, I look at everything differently.

I agree, CMW will get us back, just not with this roster.  This roster has too many flaws but things will change by year 3, IMO

If Galloway starts and plays 31 minutes you know our guard play isn’t up to par. Over the next 2-3 years if Galloway starts and plays 30 minutes you know we didn’t improve guard talent.

The offense will never be fixed as long as the ball goes to TJD in the post and he stands there for what seems like an eternity before making any move. By the time he figures out, oh crap there is 3 defenders, we are so deep into the shot clock it doesn’t matter if the ball comes back out. We have to stop with the post focus and run something other than a perimeter weave. It’s great to have an inside presence like we have but for that to be the focus is like running on first down every drive all season long, guess what the defense knows what is coming! Even Woody seemed to acknowledge it in the post game. He said, paraphrasing, that even if the back court moves while Trayce has the ball in the post the defenders don’t move with the cutter, we are going to have to do something about that. Yeah cause they know the ball isn’t coming out and they stay there to dig on TJD!

Nope. I out. In out. TJD needs to stop forcing it.

I’d argue Race is the best player on our team. I’m saying it would be hard to see him come back next year, play this dang hard and still miss the tournament…if I were him (and we miss this year), if an opportunity to play at another blue blood or historically safe school, I’m going. Or, be done with college and go make some money over seas.

It's a bit of jabbing, realistic views of the program tend to draw strong ire from those hoping what has been evident for most of the season isn't true.

I believe we still sneak into the tourney this year and many (all?) of the players get their first crack at the big dance. Race isn't the most skilled but he's provided the most consistent e and e this season and his career at IU. If he had a consistent jumper this offense would look much different. I guess another if would be IF we actually made it a little more dynamic.

Look guys. From an old timer. IUs roots are role players. Guys like Eyl, Nover, Sloan, even Garret to some extent. I’ll never forget sykle was supposed to own Garrett. Fk that chit. Alford was the man but Smart hit the shot. Etc Etc. Guys like Derek Elston and Hulls. Guys that bleed crimson. Doyle knows. Woody knows. We’ll get there

Gotcha. I’ve done my best to remain positive, and am still slightly optimistic we make the tournament, because dammit the fan base needs it, but it’s going to be a battle. I will definitely feel for guys like Trayce and Race if never make the big dance here. 

Agree regarding his shot. Still baffles me that he doesn’t make more, with how nice it looks.
