Where would Mgbako go? Those early draft projections will go out the window if it already hasn’t. Unless he does a complete 180 he isn’t going pro this year.

Similarly, Reneau isn’t going pro either. There is no place in the NBA for a plodding 6’9” player. TJD is twice as athletic and was an all-American and he was a late 2nd rounder.

I’m not saying both will be here next year as players transfer etc but pro? No

Possibly undrafted but still entering is where he could go.   Just look up how many kids with eligibility last year entered and went undrafted.   Happens every year.  Kids not ready are done with college and just want to start a professional career regardless of where that ends up being

I suppose anything is possible but that would be an incredibly poor decision. I’m not saying he won’t eventually make an NBA roster but he is nowhere near that right now and dropping out of school would put him in the g league or abroad more than likely making less than he is at IU

Does the name Jay Edward’s ring a bell?

Jay was coming off an all-American season and was the 33rd pick.

Hard to say his stock would have been any higher had he stayed. In hindsight given he didn’t stick on the roster very long suggests he should have stayed another year to enjoy college and improve his game but all-American and early 2nd round pick isn’t bad

Back to Queen - Queen could be a better version of Reneau, maybe a hybrid of TJD and Reneau and Woodsons system is ripe for players like that.

Despite his high ranking, I don’t see him being a hot prospect for the pros no matter where he goes so he might as well come to IU where Woodson has proven his bigs will be the focus and get a ton of touches.

TJD was a 2nd rounder but he could have gone earlier. He and his agent purposefully tanked their position to get to GS's selection.

But, yes, I agree that Reneau would likely go undrafted.

That's true but I think we'll see less of that with NIL if the reason they would choose to go pro despite likely being undrafted is financial.

MR isn’t sniffing NBA draft boards this year, likely ever. MM showing enough growth to be bought into staying here next year (vs transferring) would be great for 2024. He’s appeared nowhere near NBA ready (yet?) but could be one of those guys who needs two years to mature his game…and hopefully that’s done here with us.

MR won't but I bet MM still does even though I doubt he gets drafted now. He is not anywhere close to being an NBA player and my never be.

9-9 from Queen was nice to see.

Liam had one bucket. Time for Hoosier fans to hit the panic button?…LOL,LOL

Box score’s messed up. Only adds up to 71. McNeeley had 4 3’s in the 1st half. No panic just yet. LOL

2024 Montverde Academy (FL) F Derik Queen (@derikqueen1): 24 PTS (10-11 FG), 8 REB, 3 AST in a 103-74 win over Duncanville (TX).  He played 16 min.

24/8 on 10-11 in 16mins is pretty.....efficient.
