Popular Post Stuhoo Posted April 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 7, 2021 Per an Eric Bossi article: Transfer #3 Overall Ranking--Bossi’s take: In Xavier Johnson, somebody is going to land a strong, athletic and aggressive point guard who is capable of getting into the lane and really creating opportunities for himself and teammates. If you are a team that wants to put shooters around the perimeter, he’s the ideal guy to get feet in the paint, create pressure and then find guys who are open to knock down shots. Johnson is down to Baylor, Houston, Indiana and St. Joseph’s. Word is that he is close to a decision and is notable to point out that Indiana assistant Kenya Hunter once signed Johnson at Nebraska. ramadden13 Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 #3 available transfer would be pretty darn good for a team that could desperately use more consistent guard play and playmakers. FWHoosier84, Justin Kotter and HoosierHoopster 3 Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Johnson shot better from the free throw line than every player on our team last year except for Lander (who only took 8 all year). Hardwood83 1 Quote
monskisprodigy Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 My only question is...how do Rob and Lander fit into the equation with him coming on campus? One of the 3 will be the odd man out, and Rob nor Lander are moving to the 2 IMO.... Hardwood83 1 Quote

In my uneducated opinion, Lander will be our backup point guard and Phinisee will have a substantially reduced role. That could change if he exorcises whatever demons were haunting him last year, but I think Woody’s offense will be perfect for a guard like Lander. ElectricBoogaloo 1 Quote

So, an addition may lead to a subtraction depending on who is impacted. This may take a while to sort out. Hutch89, kottke and cybergates 2 1 Quote
Golfman25 Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Lander is the future. He'll need to wait and develop a bit. Quote

I suspect we’ll play more three guard lineups and sometimes a PG will shift to play the 2. moyemayhem, Hoosierfanyuh, 8bucks and 1 other 4 Quote

The interest and offer to Xavier has been there for some time, and Lander isn't recommitting if thinks he's going to be the third option. To be clear, I really hope that he doesn't, but I'm not sure how all 3 of them co-exist and get enough minutes to be happy. Quote
