PG Lander G Johnson G Stewart F Hunter C TJD Bench in order: Phinisee, Race, Geronimo playing the lion's share of the minutes off the bench. The other get minutes based of situations and needs. I’m not sure if Woody is going to start three guards. I think it really comes down to player development over the summer and fall, though. If Thompson can consistently shoot jumpers then I could see a Johnson/Stewart/Hunter/Thompson/TJD starting lineup. One good thing is I think he will adjust his system to the players on our team instead of pigeon holing players like a certain IU coach we had a month ago. HoosierFan1994 and Hardwood83 2 Quote
Unexpectedflash Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 Competition makes people better. I'm sure people will be unhappy but as long as everyone has the same shot at playing time I'm not too worried about it. Hopefully this just forces everyone to work harder to get playing time. thebigweave, GoIU8, theriverpilot and 3 others 6 Quote

Be interesting to see the rotations because I very seriously doubt it'll be 14 or even 11 if you want to contend that Leal, Galloway and Duncomb would be understanding Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk I'd throw Brunk in there as well. I don't Brunk, Trey, and Leal getting the minutes they have had in the past. lillurk 1 Quote

I think Johnson and TJD are the only two I'd put money on to start. You are right. The rest will be determined over the offseason. Race 100% starts if he develops a shot. Popular Post MyDRockHard Posted April 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 8, 2021 Love seeing that Race is staying. We shared a laugh together one time at the Circle K on 17th and College Ave. The lady at the register was screaming at two women, both of which were only wearing men's underwear as pants. (I know because I owned the Supermen pair one was wearing.) Guessing one was her daughter since they were talking about money or something. Register lady followed them out the door yelling, and kept walking after them leaving me at the counter and Race behind me. We both just looked at each other and said "What the hell was that?" Capt. Popular Post Hoosier Guy Posted April 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 8, 2021 The fact that Woodson is getting these players to stay is a telling sign. The players clearly respect Woodson and his vision with the future. If Armaan and Keion top off this frenzy, IU could have something next season Capt. theriverpilot Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 Two takes I'm getting from seeing the players come back: 1) They've bought into Woodson (obvious one there). To be honest, this is a great sign for future recruiting if Woodson can easily sell his vision and goals to recruits. 2) The players seem to genuinely like each other. It didn't seem like egos or a personality conflict was the reason for entering the transfer portal. It was simply due to the uncertainty of the coaching change. Magnanimous Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 I hope that between the two new guards, new coaching scheme and some offseason development we’re not only competitive but winning the close games we kept losing last year. However, while I’m glad to see kids buying into Woodson’s vision and some stability through the coaching change, this team has been pretty bad the last few seasons. I hope this isn’t setting up to be like Crean’s third, but I’m cautiously optimistic about a significant jump next year returning the same players from a bad team. We're returning most the the same players who struggled to shoot, handle the basketball, and defend. A new coach isn't going to change everything completely. While things look encouraging right now, Woodson has to win at a high level. Player development will determine this teams fate this next season. T White 1 Quote
