Andy Enfield is where I might be at, still trying to decide

What I don't understand about any interest in Enfield is two-fold:

1. He hasn't done much at USC. He's never gotten out of the second round of the tournament in eight years at USC. No conference titles of any variety at USC either.

2. His USC program was one of the handful of programs most prominently noted for buying players during the FBI investigation.

So, here's a recap of the past week:
"Ugh, sounds like Archie's staying. I hate this. Why don't we care about basketball?"
"Woah, Archie got fired! Maybe we do care!"
"Wouldn't it be crazy if we made a run at Stevens?"
"OMG, we actually have a chance at Stevens?!"
"WE'RE GETTING BRAD STEVENS?!!"
"WE'RE...not getting Stevens?"
"Woodson...Woodson?"
"Matta anyone?"

All of this within the past 7 days. Probably crazier than any stretch we had this season.

As bad as the Big 10 has shown it is in the tourney, and let me remind everyone we were at the bottom of the Big Flop league, I hope we do not reach. We were bad in a bad league apparently. We need a PROVEN college coach. Not Woodson ( tho he is one of my all time favorite players) and not a Matta ( really lol??)
There are some quality guys you all have mentioned. Step up Dolson

U hafta believe there is SOME plan in place because they really have been tight lipped. I think we as fans are just so eager to win that we are all over the place right now. I for one am trusting Dolson until he proves me wrong. This whole process has felt different. Gotta be for a reason.

At this point I think we should offer 5.5 million to Drew, Beard, Musselman, and Oats. If they turn us down no harm no foul. Maybe we get lucky and one of them comes.

Check in on Mattas back. If we’re this low on the list, just offer Fife and build the best staff in the country around him. We’d have money to spare. I’d rather take a chance on him than some of the others being discussed that have proven to be mediocre in the past.

I still have faith in Dolson to get this right and it’s his job to convince whoever he thinks is the best candidate to come. It’s just kind of scary to go from thinking we’d get Brad to not knowing who’s even on the list.

They won the conference this year. If you take out his first year at USC he has a pretty good winning percentage. He’s a shooting coach specialist, has NBA experience, runs a fun offense, hot wife.

Beard is my 1st choice after we ask Brad 2 more times :-). Then Musselman maybe but I don’t mind Enfield with a Lewis.

It helps having Evan Mobley on the team who is in the running for number one draft pick. I think that really skews this year especially since Mobley’s dad is an assistant coach. I doubt that he’d be able to get that talent otherwise. If he’s getting a top 3 high school recruit in the country each year then sign me up but I don’t think this year is the norm.

If this process ends with Fife, Alford or anyone without successful P5 HC experience then labeling it "debacle"  "fiasco" "nightmare scenario" "program killer" & "catastrophe" will all be in order. IU is well past the stage of taking a flyer on the lowest common denominator.

As you mentioned, Dolson' appears serious, as pursuing Stevens shows. So I don't expect him to settle for anyone with a pulse and and Indiana diploma.

Fife is definitely not my first choice or even fifth but if we’re getting that low on the list I’d rather take a chance on him than like Enfield. Just feels like there’s a stink on the program and we won’t be able to get an established coach. I could just be feeling this way since no real rumors have come out about who we’re making a run at next.

Beard vs musselman has been a good one

musselman’s wife not quite Mrs. Enfield but not bad either.

Entertaining game. Both teams defend hard. Didn’t see anything offensively that gets me real jazzed about either guy. Ball screen, drive and kick. Same thing every other coach runs.

I just watched the Arkansas vs. Texas Tech game and I wonder why either coach would want to leave their current team. Both teams are pretty darned good.
