So if we are down to 4 according to some (excluding Stevens for this conversation, and for some odd reason feel compelled to leave off Turgeon as well…..)  McDermott, Wade, McCollum, and Brownell, what is everyone’s preference here? They all bring something different, so I would be curious on what posters are thinking would be best for IU out of the group I listed.

**I’m not saying it’s actually down to those 4, but after today, just going off of some generalizations.**

If choosing between the 4 I would take Will Wade because I think he would take the most advantage of our resources and handle the NIL landscape best.  McDermott is a good Xs and Os guy and McCollum is high risk high reward.  I want no part of Brownell and if he is hired would have to think we missed on several other candidates

He was convinced to step down. a proxy firing, but he did technically do it himself

Oh so he is not getting his buy out paid out in full immediately?

It's got 1,600 views right now so I'm not sweating it. Posting it on this board probably doubled the views lol.

People are gonna spout off stupid **** like this about rival schools all the time... a troll in Louisville? Shocking

The media has been dragging the whole Woodson farewell tour, which I didn't realize he qualifies for...

I assume serious people who this would have any relevance toward would easily confirm it's BS and be unphased.

They need to announce a coach ASAP, its getting torturous

What seems most telling is he says ‘rumors’ and not ‘a source’.

Think they came to an agreement there. He wanted to just quit and be done at the time but they worked something out

But you don't get your buyout when you quit, it's only when you get fired or take another job......

It's been the exact opposite.  That not even on the list that I've seen.

Not that I've seen... just CWat pushing him for the job... and Tyme re-tweeting it.

And then got caught, lied to the school and to the NCAA investigators, hence the show cause, and then barely made any effort at all to appear contrite because he wasn’t. He’s an amoral POS and I don’t want him anywhere near a program I root for because he’s gonna get busted for something else, my guess in the current environment would be something academically related but it won’t shock me if it’s more along the lines of a Steve Alford/Pierre Pierce sort of thing.

Im personally not team Wade I get your feelings up until the end.  It doesn't quite seem fair to Wade though to just assume he would try and cover up a SA because he paid some guys and lied to the NCAA about it.  That's quite a leap in my opinion.

Good to rehash because I remembered the “offers” but had really forgotten all of the attempted coverup

WTF?
