Just trying to put myself in Scott's shoes for a sec. If I'm him, knowing this has to be a STUD hire, there's just no way I would consider someone like Brownell. I'm sure Scott is quite a bit more educated than I, he's gotta know better than to make a hire like that! Right?

He swung and missed with Woodson. With this new hire, it’s his career legacy on the line. He bought himself some extra years with Curt, but that could flame out for all we know.

Depends what it looks like behind the scene. Absolutely need somebody better than Woodson to retain your job, essentially a high floor / low ceiling guy: then get Brownell. All the BoT Woody backers have been excised and the Cig hire gives you some flexibility to swing for the fences? Go for your favorite mid major guy.

Every P4 has hired already, outside of NC State who just announced yesterday they are making a move. 

Indiana’s coach is still head coaching or is Brad Stevens / Billy Donavan.

Pretty much sums it up. Woodson was hired by dolson regardless of if it was forced or not. It was on his watch.
