Something seems off to me a bout the idea of him being hired. 21 seasons. Resulting in 5 sweet sixteens of which three produced elite 8’s and one championship. Much better than what we’ve had no doubt, but I don’t see him as a home run in any circumstance Keep in mind the one title was in a very odd set up for a ncaa tournament and had a huge number of upsets. Do some research on Baylor, their basketball history, and what Drew started with when he got there. It’s one of the most remarkable coaching accomplishments in the history of college athletics. He is a very good coach. There are a few other reasons people may not want him at IU, but coaching chops would not be one of them. HoosierInParadise, CSP and go iu bb 3

Trish Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 I just don’t buy the Drew talk. Yes, Big Ten money is different, but Baylor has great NIL and is a basketball school. He’s lived in Waco since 2003, has a brand new arena to play in as well. He hasn’t accepted any other job but would listen to Indiana because he grew up there? I don’t buy it. Yes you can argue the Stevens talk is similar, however, Stevens isn’t a coach currently. Coaches don’t just quit coaching, he’ll be a coach again somewhere. He has the itch to coach again. I've heard that there are some people in the athletic department that still don't like Drew because of that whole situation but I'm not sure if Dolson is one of them or not. Artie86 1

I didn’t see a hot board post from anyone yesterday so maybe he didn’t put one out, but it seems like admitting you don’t know what the hiring party is thinking at all should exclude you from making much commentary on who they will pick lol The football coaching search shows that you shouldn't put too much faith into Rabjohns' hot coaching board. Right before Cignetti was named as coach, Rabjohns and company moved him into the Other Names category. 11/28 - Moved to Other Names 11/29 - Moved to a primary target 11/30 - Named IU's coach This makes it pretty clear they weren't getting much info about the football coaching search. It seems likely that would be true about the basketball search as well. VFury, FWA-EVV, CSP and 2 others 5
