Still more interesting than his daughters soccer team lol Hey - we might have a chance with Stevens for all I know. But the most clearly obvious explanation for a trip to South Bend, 3:15 minutes from Bloomington, is that a parent was visiting his kid during the school year and got to hang out with one his absolute best friends Micah as a bonus. cybergates, thebigweave, lillurk and 5 others 7 1
Popular Post Chris007 Posted March 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2025 I'm sorry a lot is going on and being said behind the scenes in Bloomington. It would give more context to Brad at the game and a few other things. We'll see if it is something or not. IUFB and I had some conversations yesterday, he checked out some info and ran it past some people. The Undertaker then popped up. cbp4iu, JaybobHoosier, Hollywood Mike Miranda and 21 others 21 2 1
Popular Post ronzo4IU Posted March 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2025 Brad to IU makes perfect sense. He never won a national championship at the college level but he’s accomplished that in the NBA. Coming back to the college game to coach Indiana and resurrect us from the bowels of hell and finally win a national championship is the stuff legends are made of, and the challenge he has probably been longing for. Sure! I don’t disagree one bit. Still for all the flight tracking that goes on in this thread, we see hes back in Indiana. Anything with IU is probably more likely being discussed elsewhere. Not sure how much time Brad spent in Indiana. But nice he’s choosing to spend time in his home state, even if only for the obvious reason. Stuhoo and lillurk 2

I think this could be a big factor. He finished the job in the NBA and won an NBA Finals championship. Maybe he wants to finish the job in NCAA and win an NCAA national championship. lillurk and Artie86 2

Yes the entire conversation is subjective! People have strong opinions here as you know lol. You obviously are unmoved by Ben’s resume which is fine. The flip side of looking at it is that it’s very subjective to say a guy who has never been the main guy on the sideline/in the locker room can step into that role in a place like IU and win bigger than a guy who has multiple national titles in D2 and a mid-major conference title in his first D1 year. For me the biggest question with McCollum boils down to his recruiting. I am fairly confident if Archie’s personality and Woodson’s hand off approach could land 5 star talent, McCollum could do that here too. Very much doubt he will be the hire though. The waiver deadline is March 1 this year so there’s very little any GM/VP will do the rest of the year that impacts this year’s team. There are other responsibilities, but if, for example, an exec was leaving, those things (draft scouting, cap projection, contract extensions coming after the playoffs etc.) would all be much less pertinent.
