I miss the old BTB where debate and info (right or wrong) was accepted or ignored. The hateful personal attacks always come from a subset of new posters

How am I spreading hate and negativity?   Please explain.

The funny thing is I didn't even name a name today. I just said I was hearing good things. Then the dude who was sending me DM's a couple of weeks ago telling me about Dusty May this and that tells me I don't know anything. Good Stuff!!

Hopefully he felt better after getting it off his chest since your positive whispers were ruining his BTB viewing experience today lmfao

I don’t know if there is a way but you should be able to turn off DM’s. Or only get them if you “follow each other” I’m sure all the insiders would appreciate not being bombarded.

And to follow up on this - we’re all crazy fans that were on a message board checking every minute for new news. But if you’re taking it to the level of dm’ing people on their news they share, then you have some serious issues. And if there was a vote to give people 24 hour ban for disrespectful dm’s I’d vote yes. Take a time out and relax. Sheeeeeesh

The last 8 years of watching this team have truly been like wandering in the desert. I am at the point where I would welcome Beard with minimal reservations. I am so sick of inconsistency and the promise of talented rosters underperforming so grossly. I just want a tough, mean team with a high floor.

sure I would brace myself for the first two years that we would get a shocking police report and it would be over. But winning cures all. If we hired him and got five really strong years before a DUI sends him packing, I could do that. I know that feels gross, but we’d be able to make another monster hire with our resources at that point too.

**with that being said, come on down Brad Stevens.

This is a desperate fan base at this point.  The administration can hire an "up & comer" and then possibly be in the same position 4 years from now when he under-performs or hire someone like Beard and hold your breath that you don't see the police report on social media of him at Kilroys totally blasted.  I'm starting to feel like the sure thing, homerun hire isn't going to happen.

I shared the names I heard with a few posters on here via DM. not sharing here. sorry to be vague but tipped my hand a bit too much under my previous username with the archie info and my guy found out and wasn't thrilled. he's also a family member who gives me insane amount of access to IU athletics, not someone i'm trying to piss off.

Correct, i haven't heard anything since last thursday. almost a week and a lot can change in that timeframe. heard Stevens wants nothing to do with CBB, and loves life in the NBA, but money talks i guess. The sale of the celtics isn't a big deal to him, he wants to stay in boston but will have several NBA offers if he doesn't

Think i will withhold my info moving forward. understand the skepticism but i see why people with actual info choose not to overshare

Most of us consider Brad a dream scenario but it’s no surprise to read that he could now permanently be an NBA guy and it sounds as though he likes Boston.
When it comes to coaches and players it seems as though many assume everyone wants to “come home” but a lot of people (including me) have no desire to “go home”.

No stepladder was handy.

And he already has his hands up by his face constantly readjusting his hair 55 thousand times a game

I feel you here. I love my roots but there are reasons why I left Indiana and wouldn't return barring a family emergency that couldn't be solved otherwise.

IU since 2017:  (overall record, conference record, place in conference)

2017–18    16–15    9–9    T–6th
2018–19    19–16    8–12    9th
2019–20    20–12    9–11    T–10th
2020–21    12–15    7–12    T–10th
2021–22    21–14    9–11    9th
2022–23    23–12    12–8    T–2nd
2023–24    19–14    10–10   T–6th

2024--25     18-12      9-10      T-9th

.

73-83 conference record since 2017….I’ve lived through it but it’s still inconceivable to me that IU has circled the drain to such an extent.

I see McDermott as one of the "lower risks" hires we could make, his ceiling just might not be as high as we want.

Exactly how I see it. If we hire McDermott, I’d be pretty optimistic, overall.

At least you don't get told to shut up or stop posting daily.

I think you have good info, just like I think Jerry, RTZ and a few others do. But one side or the other or maybe both are being used as smokescreens. Dolson learned from the last basketball search that too much info was getting out. Appreciate you

Don’t worry about the haters Chris. Keep doing what you do. Anyone that take a message board as the gospel needs to find a better quality of life.
