I believe Scott B heard this but it would be super surprising that Woodson would know what is going on. He has not made any friends in the building since his retirement. I spoke to one staff member recently who said they had not heard a single name since Feb. 13. But I don't think they are actively asking how the search is going.

Thanks! Was thinking it would be weird for Woodson to just be chatting up a mutual friend back in Btown about a coaching search he’s not really involved in and on bad terms with the AD staff during a “win and in” stretch in the PNW

I have not heard either is out. Have heard things picked up towards the end of last week and through the weekend. 
I believe Scott B heard this but it would be super surprising that Woodson would know what is going on. He has not made any friends in the building since his retirement. I spoke to one staff member recently who said they had not heard a single name since Feb. 13. But I don't think they are actively asking how the search is going.

I can't imagine he is talking to anyone since his "retirement" nor are they talking to him. Just his staff.

nothing like knowing exactly who the candidates are to replace you, lol woody cant keep track of which team he's playing on a certain night, i promise you he doesnt know much, if anything about his replacement.

IMO:

#1.  It isn't about what player it was and if they 'were worth sticking up for'.  Perea's ability to dribble a ball, score, or rebound has nothing to do with whether the comment is fair game or not.

#2:  As you said, it was 12 years ago.  Fact is that guys commit some pretty heavy duty actual crimes and serve less time than 12 years. I hated the action, but at 12 years it should be a distance blip.  I can't recall anything in the 12 years since that would leave me to believe anything but his a 100% solid basketball coach who is above board.
