Right before Cignetti was named as coach, Rabjohns and company moved him into the Other Names category. 11/28 - Moved to Other Names 11/29 - Moved to a primary target 11/30 - Named IU's coach This makes it pretty clear they weren't getting much info about the football coaching search. It seems likely that would be true about the basketball search as well. I think I have told this story but if not I was at the UCLA game talking with someone from the athletic Department about the coaching search. Rabby walked by and they pointed at him and said when the new coach is decided he will be one of the last to know. Said he burned a lot of bridges last season. Ctf9, 8bucks, J34 and 17 others 15 3 2
Popular Post CSP Posted March 4, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 4, 2025 “I guarantee u if he does [commit to another school] he will be in Colombia for the spring and summer and next year. Don’t forget it,” the text message read. If we have higher-ups butthurt about an assistant coach 12 years ago making that statement, not even Drew's words, they need to remove themselves from the decision-making process and go coach 8yr old league softball. He’s lived in Waco since 2003, has a brand new arena to play in as well. He hasn’t accepted any other job but would listen to Indiana because he grew up there? I don’t buy it. Yes you can argue the Stevens talk is similar, however, Stevens isn’t a coach currently. Coaches don’t just quit coaching, he’ll be a coach again somewhere. He has the itch to coach again. Not sure if the NIL situation is great or not. Stu posted a video a couple of weeks back from some Baylor folks that stated that Drew had to raise money to finish his roster and was pretty unhappy about it. That was the 1st time I thought Drew might be possible. go iu bb, str8baller, taco corp and 4 others 7

It's wild because he burned bridges with a lot of the fanbase, too. At least those paying close enough attention to know who the program beat writers/reporters are. I'll never understand what he was thinking with his behavior and ties to HH. His community has become so insular. It's a shrinking ecosystem dependent on everyone there viewing Rabjohns as some kind of all-knowing source who deigns to provide them with "tidbits" and "chatter" as he sees fit. So, so bizarre. ronzo4IU Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 My biggest fear with Drew is that he’s on the downward side of the mountain. Aside from that, everything I’ve read is that they really love their new state of the art home and their new basketball facility and they are really proud of their accomplishments there, so I don’t foresee him up and moving at this stage of the game I can see retirement in the not to distant future. He isn't.

Just saying Brad Stevens over there it is either deleted, laughed at, or made fun of. But anyone with any bit of sources, contacts, or slight detective work can figure out that there was more to it than what Goodman said. He just dismisses everything because he checked it out. ronzo4IU Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 Supposedly Kentucky was the one school that he thought he would uproot and go to if they ever came calling and they didn’t even go for that. He built a Mecca there and why on earth would he want to come here and start all over, that just sounds crazy.. mamasa 1

Since they got in bed with the Hysterics, he's been a character, not a journalist. Those guys are the Kardashians of Indiana basketball. Chris007 and mamasa 2
