I’m glad the players are getting paid, but I wish they had contracts just like the pros that include multi-year durations, defined obligations, penalties, buyouts, etc.  These guys are now pros making big money, they should agree to act like pros.

Instead, we’ve got NIL which cannot be tied to playing at all.  Players can take the money and basically more or less do whatever they want.

The rev share contracts starting next year should have some terms closer to the pros, but I haven’t seen a rev share contract yet to see what is exactly in there.

Ballo is example #1 of why relying on the portal is so risky. Dude started every game on a 27-9, conference winning sweet 16 team.  Left that to join a team that missed the tournament entirely. Guys who do that generally don’t have winning as their top priority.

I dunno, I feel for the kid (all of them really) despite the money they’ve been paid. No one enjoys losing or being humiliated. No one came here thinking they would lose, they were lied to. There times this season where it looked like Ballo and Goode were the only guys trying to get people to buy in. Two guys from winning programs. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. 
 

I have no reason to believe any of the transfers truly understood or were told how bad a coach Woodson was or how awful the culture seems to be around the program. Sure, they came for checks, they also came because we looked like we were building a good team.
