The University and its fans continue to hold onto this outdated perception of the programs value and status in the college basketball world. We have accomplished little to nothing over the last 30+ years….. so little that the only people who view us as a blueblood are Indiana fans and people like Dick Vitale…. The elitist attitude and moral superiority of the university and fans, is frustrating. It’s really wearing thin on me, honestly. So many of the fans refuse to extend grace to any coach with any known past transgressions. As if they are completely irredeemable…There are people on this site who still despise Kelvin Sampson and would adamantly say they wouldn’t want him. I’m not calling you out individually. I appreciate a lot of your posts and perspective on most things. Again…Just exhausted from people not extending any grace to anyone that’s not a saint. The way I see it, is that IU doesn’t have anything to lose. We are at the absolute rock bottom, when you consider our history and where we are now. We’ve won 5 titles, haven’t won one in nearly 40 years, and have no legitimate reasons to believe we will be able to compete for one in the next 2-5 years….. or beyond… unless this hire is absolutely nailed. If we hire a guy that’s is clearly below Beards level, than I personally don’t know that I’ll be able to give much more attention and support to the program. It will be officially dead to me. I’m sick of the false hope. I need to see action at this point. Respect to anyone who sees it differently. I with you brother! This holier than thou hasn’t gotten us anywhere. Sometimes you just need to take a chance on someone because that chance could make a big difference and change them for the better. HoosierTrav Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Also….I need to ask this, because we are going to get absolutely torched, on a national level, if this breaking bad rumor ever sees the light of day, outside of the Indiana fan sphere………….. Has anyone taken the time to vet this IsaacTor fella? Once the outside catches wind, it’s going to be a major embarrassment. If they don't nail this hire with a proven winner and end up with another Miller situation, I'll be done for sure. They'll have to bulldoze AH to the ground just to remove the stink of IU basketballs rotting carcass if they don't right the ship soon.

If my source told me this, I would have kept to myself until a deal was signed, and maybe even then, never mention it, lol. Allegedly BS and SD met in Albuquerque, NM, where Breaking Bad is located. And since that is apparently Steven’s favorite show, I guess they decided to meet there and Dolson said let’s win a championship or something. Supposedly, there are flights from flight trackers confirming something took place there. I’m not sure about this one… coonhounds and cybergates 1 1

But here’s my take on Beard. Yes, a good coach who can win big here Yes, he would be divisive. He might drive off some big donors, but if he starts winning like I think he can, they’d start coming back. Yes he’s a big risk. All that to say. Based on his stated love and respect of RMK. Based on him outwardly expressing that he wants the IU job. I think Chris Beard would turn a new leaf in Bloomington. I think he views IU as his church, and RMK his mentor. I believe that he would not do anything that would tarnish those things he holds as so important to him. For lack of better words, I think IU would be the salvation for Chris Beard. Whether the opportunity exists for him will require some open minds who believe in the concept of redemption. Whether the opportunity exists is going to take leadership who believes that the IU brand is strong enough to take the initial hit it will undoubtedly take, and believe that the reward is worth the risk. I have personally seen people who have been in as low or lower places than Beard, and have changed themselves to become well respected individuals who contribute to the greater good of society. All it takes is one person, one group of leaders, to give him the chance. Texas was dream job IUFAN1976 and go iu bb 1 1
