What about getting Tony Bennett (NCAA Champion) to coach and then we hire someone as a GM to manage the NIL part that of the job that he didn't like?

Tony Bennett (433-169) 0.719 win % at Washington State and Virginia......and he's only 55.  Is it true his wife is an IU Grad as well, or is that part false?

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Bennett make it clear that he was retiring because he had no desire to play the NIL game?

Goodman is a Boston-based reporter that covered the Celtics for years and also has a direct line to the college basketball community.

Goodman makes perfect sense for this.

Ok well thank you for clearing that part up, it still doesn't make sense that he only put one part in quotations or just didn't share the whole text outright.

You know what would get those people to support him.. winning
and to the fans that don’t [emoji3577]

I thought about this and the smokescreen theory. If it is, in fact, a smokescreen, maybe Goodman was asked to put it out there in exchange for being the one that will be the first to be given the official news so he can break it first. Probably not, but it got me thinking..

To me, sending a text about a subject like this seems unprofessional and it doesn’t sound like something BS would actually do, IMO

He didn't. It was a Celtics source I belive. Source was told "I'm not a candidate"

Winning does a lot? It’s the reason Mike Woodson will be unemployed next year. Because he can’t do it.

Stevens more likely than Beard.  See UK, UL, and UM not giving him a look in their hiring processes.  He is very hard to hire for bigger brand programs/schools due to image damage to the school, some upset donors and alumni, and ongoing risk with his behavior.

You don’t like him. You’ve made that very clear and it’s reasonable why you don’t…but there are plenty of people that would support him. There’s no reason to continue to comment and throw shade on everyone who throws their support to Beard.  Do I think he has high chance of becoming the next coach? No. I think it’s Dusty, but there’s a reason why Beard is thrown in the conversation…past sins aside…he’s a Knight guy that can coach.

Never gonna happen in Bloomington in a million years, but some AD who’s secure in his position and doesn’t care about winning the presser, maybe 1 of the 2 Florida schools, is gonna take Shaheen Holloway out of that Seton Hall NIL hellscape and in 2 or 3 years is gonna look pretty freaking smart. I know it’s his alma mater, but he’s a really good coach and that’s a really bad deal and he’s not going to stay there and get his brains beat in for 15 years because they have no money.

I think where I have a problem is let’s say our insiders are right and he’s actually taking the job it’s silly to me for him to be like I’m not a candidate and a week later takes the job. Also people were saying Dolson and crew seemed happy but I just don’t see that us hiring Stevens would be the only reason they would be happy. People even laugh and joke around at funerals.

Yeah, I don’t think IU will consider him, but I also think that’s a mistake. He would change the program for the good

It feels like a grenade went off in here yesterday.  Everyone is disoriented from the blast, we’ve got some folks down, some are unaccounted for, no one quite knows what is going on.  It’s going to take time to recover…

Everyone is now trying to figure out if it was a concussion grenade or a frag grenade. Goodman is claiming it's a frag grenade without showing evidence of that and the rest of the media are running with that.
