In other news, Archie Miller changed his Twitter bio and header. I wonder why Dolson didn't like Ostrom. Interesting. By all accounts he seemed like a decent guy.

Who said he didn't like Ostrom? Just because he didn't stay on as part of the transition staff?

unless I missed something, pretty sure that had more to do with Ostrom's loyalty to Archie, as they had been together for a decade.

That's probably more likely. I thought Ostrom did a very good job recruiting. He just lost his mom three or four weeks ago and now he lost his job. Tough stretch for the guy!

If there is some deal done, trustees would be getting to know by now. So someone connected there. When it is all said and done, only Dolson, his assistant, trustees, McRobbie, and the two boosters will know. Now that is a decent amount of people who could leak. I was getting my info from someone connected to these people. Just didn't work out

Wouldn't the "new" coach and his team know as well??

yeah that is tough. I do think he will land on his feet and get a job somewhere for sure. Could be a good thing for him to take some time off though, never know

I am hoping this guy's definition of HOME RUN and my definition are the same...

Agree. I also think the majority of the fan projected list of candidates is an upgrade regardless from Arch. IU was going no where a few weeks ago. I think the BIGGEST gamble we can take is to play the up and comer card again a 2nd time. We can't do Fife (yet) or the others. We have to hit the main list. I'm good with any of them really (glad Alford is a no). Dolson is giving it a real shot it would seem. And that's all we can be happy with at this point.

This is why people laugh at IU fans. Bennett is one of the most successful coaches in the NCAA. I think there's zero shot we get one of the few coaches that have won a title but saying he'd be a failure to get is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Because it would be a failure. He doesn't fit Indiana. We literally just had a cardboard cutout of a coach that couldn't get the fanbase excited. He fits Virginia. A historically bad basketball school that had zero culture. So Bennett built one. Indiana has a culture for basketball and Bennett is the literal opposite.

Of course.  But Beilein and Matta are way to high of a risk.  Beilein looks and sounds 10 years older than he is and he's 68.  Plus he's never won quickly.  It would take several years if ever at all.

Beilien is still highly thought of with kids.   I think he started slow in the BIG because  he was learning the conference.  He is way past that now, he could win at any BIG school now, and his successes were pretty recent.  He isn't that old, people do well at his age.  Look at our recent Presidents...lol.  John seems like a kid next to them.

There’s talk that some high profile aau people got contacted by Dolson within the last couple days to see how the new coach would be perceived in the state. My guess is that’s what Kendrick heard but he didn’t want to out the coach by name. I’m guessing that’s why Jim Reamer responded to Bozich in that Twitter exchange with a gif that said “nothing”. AAU guys might be excited but do t want to burn bridges before the new coach gets to town.
