Going to be at least 7 mil imo.

Well if they start throwing away that kind of money to someone that has never won a championship.  I'm out.  I know that doesn't mean anything to anyone, but that would be simply foolish.  I mean come on. Coach K barely makes that salary.

I know salaries are crazy, but considering the two best coaches in the game make 7 and 8 million per year, paying someone with no championship pedigree that much is simply crazy.

Agree with you.  I wanted Beard when Archie was hired,  He just looked like an up-and-coming star back then.  I'm a bit concerned he hasn't been able to sustain that extra-high level with his own roster, but it's Texas Tech.  Nobody is going to win big every year there.  Drew has had rebuilding years at Baylor, too.  I'd prefer Beard, but again would be happy with both.
I think this is the toughest one for me because after Stevens I think these are the 2 that I'd like to have. I can certainly get very excited about a number of guys but these 2 are at the top.

Chris- I think you are talking about a leprechaun carrying a pot of gold to the end of the rainbow, correct? and the leprechaun is probably the agent/lawyer/whoever does the negotiations.

I just said leprechaun because it St. Patrick's day and were dealing with the Celtics. Some say a pot of gold. Not an agent, or lawyer, some say someone just to help pass out dimes or give an assist

Thad Matta vs John Beilein

This one is also tough for me. If Matta is healthy enough then it's a no brainer but his back worries me. My issue with Beilein is he'd be a band-aid that would have to be removed in 5-7 years and then there would be no guarantee his successor could maintain the trajectory. I'd still go with Matta because I believe he could get an incredible staff that could help minimize his health problems i.e. on the recruiting trail, practices etc.

Hmmm....2 guys Indiana is 15 years late to the party for.  If Matta is healthy enough to coach and recruit at the level he used to--and I don't see how he can be--I prefer Matta.  Beilein is great, but if Dolson is looking for a vision for the future, Beilein's vision is soon-to-be retirement.  It wouldn't make any sense to me.

I was born in 1990 also, so I know exactly what you mean. I remember that game against Duke and then Maryland game. Stuck in a hotel traveling with my AAU team running around like a banshee. Besides that, it’s all pictures and story tales from the yonder days when the world was a better place. Just had my first daughter born in February. Let her grow up with her RMK in Brad and not what we have dealt with for 30 years haha

Damn do I feel old, I graduated high school in 1990 but got to grow up when IU dominated the 80's.  I was a freshman when Smart hit the shot to win it all and graduated the same year Damon Bailey graduated. Got to see all the greats in college like Bird, Magic, Jordan, Ewing, Olajuwan, Barkley, Penny Hardaway, Mullin, Worthy, etc.

So I was very lucky, I feel for you younger guys, all you've known is mediocrity.  Hopefully all this changes when Brad becomes king of Indiana!!!

Yep to me these have to be after the top 5 options are exhausted. Too many ?'s for both of these guys to be at the top which saddens me because I really, really like both. Like you said a different moment in time and they are #1 and 2 for me. Glad someone is willing to talk other candidates lol.
