What’s bothered me most is the feel of this game is that Indiana was the little guy with nothing to lose and Rutgers was they way better team caught off guard, off their game, who pulls it out in the end.

what bothered me was 1) the way Rutgers laughed at IU in their last game and 2) IU's lack of response tonight to that previous treatment.

I doubt it moved the needle, because my guess was Dolson was already planning to Do It, but a real stinker like tonight sure makes you feel good about your decision if you’d made up your mind.

I agree with you on the in-game results probably not mattering to the admin, but do you see the fan reaction in the arena as moving the needle a bit or at least changing the tone for SD?

The only thing that I feel good about is that at the time he was announced, I called the Archie Miller Hire a major disappointment. My exact word were I feel like I’ve just been kicked in the nuts! Well, I still feel that way 4 seasons later.

TBH, I want no part of Scott Drew. Just seems to be something sorta sleazy about him.

But as I've written before, I thought Crean and Archie were good hires and thought Allen and Moren were bad hires -- so what the hell do I know?

I can't help but wonder, though: Dolson is reportedly pretty tight with RMK, who I believe butted heads with Drew when RMK was at Texas Tech. Plus, there's the Hanner Perea incident. Those seem to be two pretty big strikes against Drew.

I honestly think that Matta, Beliein, Drew, Musselman are all people that would take the job if offered and the pay was a raise. But before you get to those guys you have to make Brad say no multiple times. If we knocked on his door last time he didn't answer, I don't think that's been the case this time.

If these are the four, who do we choose B'Town?

IIRC, RMK also had some conflicts w/ Musselman's father Bill (RIP) when  he coached at Minny

I don’t want Beliein. Great coach but he’s just too old. I’d pick Drew #1 but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those three. All would be improvements.

If we’re sticking with someone who can’t beat Purdue & Rutgers because Knight didn’t like someone’s dad than we have bigger problems.
Were not sticking with the guy who can't beat purdue or rutgers. Bring on the son of the guy knight didn't like i guess

I wouldn’t be upset. He’s 68, old yes, but Izzo is 66, K is 74, Roy is 70, Pitino 68.

I think Belein could turn things around fairly quickly. If he can give us a solid 4 years and get IU back on track and make it a desirable job again, maybe by the time he’s ready to call it a career someone like Stevens or Beard would be willing to come.

If it were Belein, I have to assume Dolson would definitely have that conversation on how long he thinks he’s around and that would give him a known timeline and multiple years to work back channels for his eventual successor.
