I will take watching them play in the tournament regardless of how much the program is struggling  and I really don’t care how that looks on national television.   But I also don’t worry myself or lose my mind thinking of what the national perception is of iu.  For me a loss is a loss.   Losing on espn compared to BTN or FS1 is still just a loss.  I will let others worry more about the right way for IU to win or lose or what channel each should happen on

You may not care about our national perception, but it's incredibly important. Whether you like it or not. We've been on ESPN zero times this season. We finally get an ESPN2 game against Illinois. Why? Who wants to watch Indiana anymore other than Indiana fans? No one.
Quick question. Do you enjoy getting in arguments/debates on this site with EVERYONE on hear?

Besides the Texas game and Stanford game I’m guessing you are meaning  0.   The other Maui game was  on the deuce as well as the Florida St game.   So 4 of IU’s 7 non conference games were on espn networks.  Not like it really matters what channel it’s on.   Basketball fans are going to find the games regardless of what channel they are on.    Basketball junkies will watch IU games.   Plenty of college basketball nerds I interact with on Twitter watch about every college game every night.

Oh my bad. People watched us get destroyed, fall apart and beat a mediocre Pac12 team.

No prob.   Honest mistake.  0 is close enough to 4 to get mixed up

Sweet. So we are making our national perception even worse actually. I know you don't think it matters, but who do you think we are more worried about seeing us? Some 40 year olds watching or recruits just catching glimpses of games? Are they more likely to have ESPN on or FS1/BTN? Things like that are important. Even if you don't want to admit it. And considering Archie's recruiting has hit a massive wall... Someone must have been paying attention somewhere... Going to guess it wasn't the 40 year old basketball junkie.

So IU has played on espn this year even though you said they have played 0 games on espn?     My guess is a recruit like anyone else has a remote control and can switch between games.   Not sure why you are so fixated on espn being there end all for college basketball viewing.   Nova comes to mind as a team that plays almost all of their games on FS1.  I have to watch them on cbssports network.  My guess would be they have been on espn less then 5 times this year.   I think they will survive

Villanova also has a brand of winning in modern times and in the day and age of hyper social media. Indiana is considered a joke and a fossil. You clearly don't understand kids these days. They may have a remote, but they aren't likely to turn it. They are going to see most things in Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and whatever else. Recruits are more likely to find an NBA game than a college game anyways.

I blame the stupid band that plays the ding dong thing.  That has to be fair game now too they way we are arguing in this thread. But seriously, I hate that and if we were on ESPN playing 0 or 4 games this year and if definitely almost in a tournament that did not happen last year it is embarrassing that we played that thing for all to have watched and heard.

i have it on good authority that a coached named Brad does not like it either

I understand kids just fine.  Honestly recruits could care less what college basketball game is on each night.  You are right they are more likely to watch nba or playing video games or they are worried more about their own season.

More often than not it’s better that recruits don’t watch us play.

Point is, Indiana BB isn’t trending well in ANY domain.

Winning? Nah
Recruiting? Nah
Public Perception? Nah
Coaching Prowess? Nah
Style of play? Nah
Cool Factor? Nah
Media attention? Nah

Fun times

And yet, there are still people who think this guy needs another year to strangle the program. Incredible, really.

Might catch lightning in a bottle.

Keion Brooks come over.
Aaron Henry joins him.
TJD returns.
Archie realizes it’s ok to push the pace and get out in transition. And not every offensive possession has to start with a ball reversal.
Godzilla is our starting 5 man.
