A suggestion regarding McCollum... adopt the pro sports practice/protocol of someone only being a 'rookie' in their first year, or for just one year.

He's been D1 for a year now, he's not a "D2 coach" anymore.

I do think it's interesting that McCollum went on Dickitch - I mean I don't listen to him but when I kinda paid attention didn't he usually have buddies and contacts he had from his coaching and iu days? Maybe putting himself out there to IU fans?

He has all sorts of coaches on.  Tomorrow he is having Todd Golden on.  And I wish that meant he was coming to IU to coach,  but I know he isn’t.

McCollum:

We all know by now that he hasn't finished lower than 1st in conference in over a decade. Albeit D2 but so was his competition. This year, first year in D1, the guy is 3-0 vs P5, w/4x D2 transfers that START. 

So, the knock I'm seeing on here is that there is so much more that comes with the IU job. I agree! Media relations, selling the university, recruiting the All Americans, eg.

I argue that with a competent GM and a support staff + $6M to spend on players he is a golden egg. This guy is 30-3 with 4x D2 starters and IU can provide him $6M+ to fill out a roster. He is the homerun hire, the bottom of the 9th 3 runners on, down 3 GRAND SLAM. 

IU has never failed to get McD All Americans, top end talent regardless of the incompetent coaches. The brand sells itself. Hire Ben McCollum or watch him win the league for the next 2 decades at another school.
