I don't know, Pope was a UK alum and maybe they liked Kelsey more?  UofL maybe a little more gunshy than Kentucky, but you have no idea why they weren't hired.  Don't use your own personal bias and feelings to make things up.

Good advice for everyone, it just as easily could have been passed on for exactly the same reasons we think they were passed on here.

The most absolutely maddening thing has been going through this season remembering that IU beat Tennessee in that Exhibition. For all the grousing about roster fit, that game showed that this team had the talent to play with anyone. It's been a question of consistency. Not totally connected, but I'm inclined to think that there are 20 coaches or more who could have gotten more out of this team this year.

Way more than 20 coaches. How long did it take Woody to figure out that playing Reneau and Ballo together was a bad idea?

He stopped doing it only initially when Reneau got hurt.

A follow-up from the earlier coaching odds; the entire page appears to be down. Looks like the board blew the whole thing up!

Ha.  It went down yesterday too and reappeared sometime this morning from what I can tell.  We’ll see if it comes back.

Frankly, the max bets are so small and lines move on basically nothing it’s probably not a useful predictive tool like a real Sportsbook that can handle normal levels of action.

Rick Barnes?

Good coach. He's older than Woody, though. I think he's like 70.

One pre-requisite should be that they should be younger than 70, I think. LOL

Anyone at the big ten tournament to confirm or deny the rumors that Brad is there?

I’m here, lower bowl. I haven’t seen him, but I’m looking. Any description on where he’s supposedly sitting?

If an announcement is coming Monday, as for current coaches, I think Wade and to a lesser extent McCollum would be in play.

My logic:

If announced before the tournament, a major program guy would be seen by some as causing distraction and deserting his players. Wade was recently interviewed and has said he has had discussions with his players concerning his future. Any run by McNeese would be a good story of the team coming together with their departing coach.

Portal recruiting would be possible, even as he coached his team. Things would probably be kept quiet but as there is zero overlap in players in play for both schools, no perceived conflict would prevent reaching out to certain players about interest to play at IU.

No I do not just heard he was there. Usually lower bowl or behind benches tho. Appreciate the effort!

I watched beard  win at every single spot he’s been at with limited resources besides Texas and he had them ranked #1 in the country before he was let go.  Just hire the proven winner

Not my cup of tea but appreciate your fandom.

Barnes is 70 although my grandmother didn't like him.

That wasn't what you said... You said "there's a difference" between not hiring and passing on a hire. I need you to explain the difference... instead of doing that, you made it about my personal bias. Admittedly, I don't want either of those guys, but that is irrelevant to what you said.

My point remains, neither Kentucky or Louisville hired Beard or Wade, so there had to be a reason beyond my "own personal bias". Stop being pedantic.
