This is the most reasonable thing you've said all day.

It’s what I’ve consistently said since his announcement, since it’s what actually transpired.

At least if Dolson is caught with his pants down and richard in hand again, this time we'll probably end up with somebody who has been a college basketball head coach before and a HC more recently than 7 years before he was hired...

Only way you can really outdo yourself on that front is hire Isiah/Wittman/Turgeon.

Even Turgeon wouldn't be as bad as the Woodson hire.

I think you might be surprised that many IU fans and friends don’t look at every half of every game and want to fire or extend the coach based on that 20 minutes of play. Most had high hopes for him, especially given all of the previous disappointments, and they’re genuinely sad that it didn’t work out for him and for the University. Not sure why people find that so odd or unbelievable.

Clearly, if the Indiana administration has proven anything, it's that "high hopes" are grounds for epic failures... and again, having watched IU basketball for almost 60 years, there have been plenty of ups and downs, but Woodson's laissez-faire approach to coaching a college basketball team, what other outcome could there be? The fact that the majority (according to you, re: "there were a few people who were concerned") thought it would succeed tells me all I need to know about their ability to judge the potential abilities of leaders (coaches). Without a change in the decision makers who do the hiring, we are doomed.

I realize plenty don’t want to address the truth of what happened, but that’s what happened. And he didn’t forgo anything.

So are you saying, he's getting his buyout even though he "retired?"

Because a meddling or incompetent college admin hired an unqualifed coach w/o an college basketball experience to be their ... ya know... head college basketball coach?

Who would've thought that possibly would've ended up badly? Go figure. LOL

I framed my comments from the perspective people inside or closely associated with IU, not from your perspective.

In which years did you attend IU?

Hitting all the classics today ckathy.

To appease the Stu:

Drop a coach who has an agent/second cousin that has possibly been in smoke signal or telegraph communication with IU for us to argue over.
