One thing that’s a lock is this - IU is a textbook example against expanding the tournament. If this putrid team has a chance there’s no reason to add even more teams.

I don’t like my team playing in the First Four but 1) that’s what this team deserves and 2) it opens the possibility of knowing the next head coach a little bit sooner (though that would require a loss, which I won’t root for).

I'm sympathetic. As of this morning, IU was in 92 of 94 Brackets on BracketMatrix. Would need to be a horde of bid thieves over the next few days to kick them out because of the weakness of the bubble.

This is exactly true. I saw somewhere that Pitt (17-15, #72 in Torvik) would be one of the Bubble teams this year if the tournament expanded as is being proposed...

As athletic as Oregon looked in comparison to IU today, I'm watching the Ole Miss vs Arkansas game. These players are a whole different level of athlete. 

It's just a reminder of whoever IU chooses as their next coach has to be able to recruit at a really high level. Woody might have had a large NIL warchest, but IU did not put a great athletic lineup on the floor from it.

The out of left field comment is interesting. Because what’s out of left field to people who can’t hit refresh here fast enough is a lot different from fans who just watch TV sports shows. If it is someone who hasn’t been mentioned in this thread, that would truly be way, way out of left field.
