Curious if there are any flight details to connect this shaka interview that then support the other flight assumptions to boston and miami

There has been a ton of flight details connecting those but we just don't talk about them very much

Oh boy. Looks like Shaka is today's main character. I can't wait to see where the day takes us. Cheers, everyone and let's beat Oregon!

He’s a way better main character than we’ve had the past few days…. I’d be a bit hesitant from his flameout at Texas, but he’s done well at Marquette since then.

I fail to see how he's a better candidate than Greg McDermott, I also don't think his style fits us overly well, compared to GM.

with that said, he'd be a strong hire, just like Greg McD, IMO.

Woodson allegedly saying the threats were the reason that he was forced to retire at this point, a month after the announcement came out, and after having say last week that he may have left "too soon" reeks of spin.

If these now reported "threats" were real, they need to be investigated and the person responsible held accountable. But it all seems inconsistent and way to convenient at this point.

The bottom line is that he was fired because he can't/won't do the job... and was given the courtesy by Dolson to "spin" the dismissal into a "retirement" and now he's trying to walk back the retirement never was.

He also got caught out when some announcer (I forget who) said Woody told him something along the lines of he didn’t know why his results were not good enough, which implied he was fired.  Woody broke his retirement narrative spin with that too.

Also, of course, anyone close to the program will tell you he got fired/relieved of his duties, which makes perfect sense given his poor performance.

Everyone should read this article and any Turgeon talk can be put to rest.  The guy was in a pressure cooker at Maryland and decided he was out.  What does he expect at IU?  His last season at Maryland looks a lot like how the IU season started this year .

Always thought Shaka was a solid coach loved watching him dog walk Purdue out of the tourney then the 2012 round 2 games vs IU was a tough gritty fun to watch game . They got an amazing look for the win thank goodness it didn’t go in .

Texas is a tough place to win it’s been through it number of coaches the same way IU has . Wonder if that plays a factor at all ? I would take him over the majority of guys discussed (Brownell , McCollum , McDermott , Collins etc)

I could definitely see MT getting on someones staff though - he's only 60 and he's a +63% winning coach - maybe a GM?

Always appreciated how aggressive and tough Shakas teams have played over the years.

Not really sure he fits IU, but I would definitely be willing to give him a shot if we end up on him.

not a fan of the fit, but his teams seem prepared.... and I like the idea of "we dictate" pace, although I think he'd struggle to consistently find the top-level athlete he wants here.

Our style? It’s not winning lately why do we want our style?
