Helped design McDermott’s offense at Creighton which people really like, myself included. And he used to coach LaLu, so the in state connections are there presumably. The Curry Hicks guy really likes Huss. He says Huss is respected all around the industry for his offense. Says that High Point is an easy job to win at but also that Huss was smart and desired enough to wait for it. SlammySammy and Home Jersey 2
Pagoda Posted March 11 Posted March 11 7 minutes ago, Home Jersey said: I know it’s not a perfect comparison between Cig and McCollum, but taking two guys from D2 who know how to build winning cultures would inject a lot of energy into IU sports. The main thing a basketball coach has to do is win basketball games and McCollum is very good at that. I trust at a place like IU, with our resources and support, he can figure the rest out. Just because it didn’t work out for other guys here doesn’t mean he can’t. Hand him the keys and let’s ride Agree. The IU job isn't that hard. The media are lapdogs, so much so coaches can flat out tell them questions they don't want asked. Yea you've got to talk with donors and go to Huber's -- is that difficult? No. The main thing a coach has to adjust to is anon fans going wild online, but that's not really hard to do, just don't be a thin-skinned wimp. The upside is the coach gets top resources that will allow them to win big and they get paid big time. We'll find a good, ambitious coach that wants this. sirhoosierlot, go iu bb, Home Jersey and 1 other 4

I wanna believe as much as the next person Stevie to IU BUT of course I'm very skeptical. I'm wondering if it is indeed NOT Brad what the infamous "reason" will be this time around? aka the "3-1 family vote of 2021" If I had to guess I bet it will "come out" brad met with his son after the Louisville game on All Star weekend he became very impassioned by Micah Shrewberry post game rant and is committed to helping turn Notre Dame around. A Big part of the selling point for Stevens was the chance to coach his son at IU who now wants to stay at ND or something to that affect haha it is a fun wave to ride until to comes crashing down Oh well might as well enjoy nothing else to do as this search drags out. I will say I did notice and thought it was interesting about the coordinated media discussion yesterday about IU hiring the search firm, I assumed they were doing that anyway given the timing of the search clearly multiple media people were asked to put out there and discuss it. Well BUMP only one thing left to discuss as it pertains to Brad Stevens. What was the "reason" behind the No this go around ?

He has proven himself as a mid major coach these past two years IMO. His LaLu connection + any recruiting ties he’s developed in the North Carolina / DMV area would be cool here. I’d be very happy with him as the hire. kottke, Stuhoo, lillurk and 4 others 7

If by dead, you mean no Stevens, maybe, these inside sources have been wrong all along and it was never alive. I don’t mean the posters on this board. I mean the people telling them things. Now, if by dead, you mean you hear it’s Brownell, then that’s a head scratcher for sure. Disclaimer: if we hire Brownell and we are in the elite eight next year, I told you haters to let Brownell cook.
