Absolutely.  I'd put him as the #1 target from a "need" perspective. He's the coveted '3 level scorer' IU has been missing since....AJ Guyton? (slight exaggeration)

 No idea on his defense, but he is bigger and a MUCH more efficient scorer than Love.

This, Wayne points out the obvious. It comes across as negative sometimes, but it's really realistic. We just don't want to hear it. Wayne is one of the guys I always read his posts while I skip over many. Maybe he overstates it a bit, I don't know.

My biggest thing is I have a feeling for what we need to win big.  The DeLoach thing set me off again because I think it’s a bad fit based on style and roster makeup (it blew up bigger than necessary, but a lot of that was people coming at me and me defending why I don’t like DeLoach to IU-especially as a starter). .  Maybe he’s not even a priority recruit, idk, but I think the 5 is a huge position of need and so is the scoring position.  Both those options are feeling much better addressed today.  I love both of todays options for our team, roster, and style.

It doesn't seem like we are looking for 2 wings. It appears Ledlum is the priority over Battle.

Even I’m not expecting that good of a class. Sounds great though. I want 3 guys that could start.  I want a 5 that starts that has big potential on O or D but more importantly on D.  I want Knecht (lol). Best option as a scorer imo.  One of Ledlum/Battle.  Then whatever we do with the 4th is good with me at that point.

Wishful thinking that we’d get all them (which I understand was the purpose of your exercise) but that’s absolutely a top 4 B1G roster.

I don't think we end up with this either. But I can dream. And then try and find the positives where I can with what we get. Even if the positive is looking forward to the following season.

I don't know about Rhode- that is a pretty big jump in competition level- but I think you are being pretty modest with the results with that line-up. Big Ten is gonna be down next season, IMO, so that is a top 5 line-up.

I don't think it'll be down. Bottom will probably be similar. The top definitely stronger.

Is it realistic though? I don't mean to go at Wayne, he's a great, longtime poster of course. 

But is it realistic to act like recruiting is in the tank and next season is already going to be bad when the roster isn't set and literally not a single portal player that the staff is recruiting has committed anywhere, other than the one that already committed to IU?

Wayne of course brings up some real questions and concerns, I'm not debating that. But, we're a long, long way from recruiting and next season already being in the tank.

That guy rode the bench for 4 years at Baylor if I’m not mistaken.   Got him a national title though.   Using the covid year to hit the portal
