That would be a terrible defensive team.  Reneau offers zero rim protection.  Tbh, you either have to choose Reneau or Galloway to.start, but not both.  They're too similar of players; below average quickness, bad outside shooters, can only reliably score in the paint, average at best defenders.

We sucked at defense this year and actually had a rim protector. So what's it matter? Dive full in on having an elite fast paced offense. Just like Crean did in 14-15. Hell it got us a 10 seed. We are looking at missing the NIT again next year.

That’s why I was hoping the black hole would have transferred.  He offers 0 rim protection, too slow to guard a stretch 4, playing him and another 5 together clogs the lane up, often makes poor decisions with ball, often gets into foul trouble.  I think Reneau and Galloway should come off the bench but we all know Woodson probably has promised them starting positions.

Guard the perimeter better and the need for rim protection (which is code for bad defense) becomes less and less relevant. We had elite rim protection this last season and still had terrible defensive metrics because we had so many players guarding outside their natural positions.

How many of FAU’s squad has eligibility left and BigTen quality?

I think 5 of their top 7 players have a Covid year. Goldin, Martin, and Davis could all play at this level I would think.

Absolutely. Thinking rim protection is wrapped up in the problem of how Woodson puts teams together.

Put a quick, fast-breaking team together with guards and wings, stop with granpa's post-centered play, lengthy athletic wings easily help on rim protection.

Skyy Clark officially in portal.  Not ruling out a return to Louisville.  Strange journey.  Originally a Kentucky commit, decommitted and played at Illinois before leaving midseason, played at Louisville last year.  McDonald's All-American.

At Louisville last year averaged 13.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists.  Shot 41/35/78.  47 of 133 from three.

Impossible to have an elite, fast paced offense with mgbako, Galloway, and reneau all starting.
