Some hypothesizing that he will go to Cincinnati (that's his hometown). In an interview he said he was looking to go somewhere that he would have an expanded role. Just as a moment of levity, is anyone transferring not looking for an expanded role? thebigweave, go iu bb, lillurk and 2 others 5 Quote

Leading scorer at South Carolina Upstate transferred to Tennessee. His father is an assistant at Tennessee. He just transferred into a very crowded backcourt. Graham Ike. Doubt he gets the same touches at Gonzaga as he would have at Wyoming. EDIT:missed at obvious one — Payton Sparks. HoosierHoopster, thebigweave, CSP and 2 others 5 Quote

Good notes, transfers for better programs or conferences for the chances and level of play that brings and / or family, though I imagine Gainey expects a significant role playing under his dad as an assistant Quote

How in the world did we win the Big Ten in 2016 with 6-3 Robert Johnson at the 3, in 2013 with 6-4 Victor Oladipo at the 3, in 2002 with 6-4 Dane Fife at the 3... HOW? HOW COULD IT BE DONE!?!? RJ never played the 3. But I always prefer a 3 guard lineup. OG, Troy, Hartman, and NZ some were the 3s on that team. Vic was also B1GDPOY and a Top 5 NBA draft pick. NVFalcons1990 1 Quote

tortex28 Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Collins and Fredrick from Kensucky enter the transfer portal. There will be more players entering the transfer portal soon too! https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/36254452/kentucky-cj-fredrick-daimion-collins-enter-transfer-portal And they too probably won't go to IndianaSent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

tortex28 Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Whatever Indiana is selling the recruits aren't buying right now. At some point you just have to win with what you have and prove yourself to get better players.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk Ngw7183 and thebigweave 1 1 Quote
tortex28 Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Indiana basketball is at a point with recruiting a similar to where they were with the two previous regimes. Seems like the well has dried up a little.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk Ngw7183, J34 and CSP 2 1 Quote

Collins’ father and grandfather both passed away in the last seven months. He is looking to transferring to being closed to home as he has had a very mentally tough period (he’s from Texas). Quote

Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk Did we recently land a former 5 star recruit from a Nike school who liked it here so much, he cancelled a visit to an SEC school? Or was that just a dream? There are still 3 more weeks for players to enter the portal and keep their eligibility for next season. I think some of our fans still haven't grasped how long this game really is. sweetpain, hper50, Artie86 and 14 others 15 2 Quote

They have 3 open spots and there will be options to get those filled. I have my issues with this staffs recruiting at times but comparing it to Crean and Archie is an overreaction. I would disagree they seem unable to recruit all roles. Something Crean and Archie both struggled with. Basketball is guard dominated. We aren’t going to win much with a really good frontcourt Ngw7183 and HoosierAloha 1 1 Quote
Scotty R Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Got this quote from an article about Cleveland entering the portal. “Guys like Cleveland are often lured into the portal by promises or interest given from coaches at other schools, with potential of how much NIL money may be involved. How it works isn’t technically illegal, but a coach can always be recruiting other players and talk to a Grassroots coach or even a close relative and basically say “if Player A would get into the transfer portal we would take him and if he came here our collective might be able to pay around X.” HoosierAloha, NVFalcons1990 and thebigweave 1 2 Quote
