RaceToTheTop Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Bryson Williams (UTEP) enters the portal. 6'8" power forward. Four year starter (two at Fresno State, two at UTEP) who has scored over 1,600 career points. After being a strictly inside player at Fresno State, has somewhat developed at outside game (has made 50 of 155 (32%) the past two years). Averaged 15.1 points and 7.4 rebounds last year after averaging 17.8 and 7.2 the year before. JaybobHoosier and 8bucks 2 Quote

I am hoping that they get a player with at least 2 yrs eligibility left, unless it is some athletic 6'7"+ lights out shooting stud, of which, I don't see in the portal, currently. Quote

I think we are starting to get to the point where the portal consists mostly (not totally) of guys who would come in and serve a role but not be looked on to be huge difference makers. I think right now the best names that have been associated with Indiana are Miller Kopp and DeVion Harmon, but we know a lot of high profile teams have contacted Harmon. Kopp might be the best fit -- he probably fits the profile of combo forward that Woodson was talking about. Still might leave us a little short handed down low, though, with Brunk's departure. Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Since it was thought he would be Penn State bound, have to say Shrewsbury really seems to be striking out in the transfer pool. Don't think he's brought in anyone and has lost quite a bit. Quote

OldBuddy67 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Maybe Liddel is staying in the draft. I’d gladly take facing Brunk next year over Liddel twice next year! HinnyHoosier, JHoosier914, FWHoosier84 and 1 other 4 Quote

fwgreenway Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Best of luck to Joey. To me it's disappointing he went anywhere in the BIG. Makes total sense having a prior relationship to coach Holtman. Close to home must play into the decision as well as potential playing time? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

jumpshot53 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 I was really shocked to read some Ohio State forums where people were so down on Coach Holtman. They disliked Brunk coming to Ohio State and blamed it on Holtman's awful recruiting. Quote

It filled their last roster spot and they basically said that it showed his 'failure to land Efton Reid' (top 25 2021, 6'11" center). While I know the sentiment of a fan base to think they are going to get the recruits they want, I think a little slack needs to be given to Holtmann by them because he HAS succeeded. jumpshot53 and Uspshoosier 2 Quote
