No offense intended but I think the logic is a bit off.  That same FW team went 18-15 (7-7) and lost in the first round of the CIT.  The fact that some of their stars were IN kids who played two  games with attitude two years in a row is important.  But we need to compete on a much larger stage.  Yes, let's take the top IN kids when we can, but we need to also recruit the top 'anywhere' kids when we can.

I would like to get Newman. Reputation as a shooter, but looks like a solid all around player. I hope he continues to improve and makes the right choice and goes to IU.

I can think of a couple of reasons:

No banners behind the basket to distract you.

If the season sucks the fans will just  say it's a football school.

 

You might get used to the smell eventually.

Not many players do choose stankass Lafayette over Bloomington.

 

There have been a few battles they have won but we have always outrecruited them as a whole

Nothing big. Just he is down to 4 and that he doesn't want to play with Franklin. Also is in no hurry to make a decision.
