FINAL : #18 Notre Dame 77 - Indiana 80 | McRoberts & Morgan MVP's

Recommended Posts

IU scored 30 points in the last 10 minutes of the game (5 minutes of regulation and 5 in overtime)

Our defense is lightyears better than last season. If we can get the offense going (making open shots) we might be a pretty solid team in the last 2/3's of the season.

Great 5v8 win today. Glad to see the team respond and get a hard earned W with everything going against you.

Glad to seeJohnson knockdown some shots!!! Morgan was a beast!! 34 points and 11 boards?! Huge! If we can find a few guards to step up and get Davis playing without fouling we'll be solid.
You know it's bad officiating when Jimmy Jackson makes not 1, not 2, but 3 "not sure about that" calls. Two were on Hartman's GREAT hedging where Ferrel went into him. Hartman might want to start flopping like a Dookie on those plays.

I remember 3 wtf calls on Hartman. 1st one midwayish thru 1st half. Gibbs I believe was driving to basket, looks like hit trips over his own feet and Collins back was to him as well and he gets called for it! I looked at bruiser flint on the bench and his reaction was the same as mine. I’ll say it again, that officiating yesterday was absolute GARBAGE at best!

Incredible game. That's college BB at its finest. I was gone all day and just now was able watch. McBob made so many clutch plays. Juwan was on another level today.

It's fun to win.

I was watching with two girls and a guy who is really into sports but prefers the NBA (Sixers) and they all last night said, in some form or fashion, "wow, we need to watch more CBB."

That's literally after this same group watched the Sixers/OKC go 3 OT's on Friday.

I really do feel good about Archie. He is maximizing talent with the exception of Rojo- and I know he had a good game yesterday. Rojo seems to just be inconsistent on both ends dating back to the back half of Yogi's last year. Maybe he'll turn it around.

The most obvious maximizing of talent is JM. Part of that has to do with the lack of scorers on this team, sure. But CTC would have him out on the 3pt line, not under the hoop where he is most effective. It seems like a small, almost obvious, adjustment, but he's got JM to buy in. A guy who was most likely sold by CTC for years going back to his recruitment on being versatile as his path to the NBA.

As excited as I am about winning that game, I hope we don't depend on a kid missing two free throws in the future to put us in a position to win. That part was pure good fortune. The rest was outstanding determination and toughness the likes of which we haven't seen from an Indiana team in a long time. That toughness with more talent is going to be a lot of fun.

This looks like a team that is getting better during a difficult stretch, which is encouraging.

I still don't think we end up making the tournament due to our non-conference schedule, but I have faith in Archie making a run in the Big Ten Tournament and getting the auto-bid.

Which is crazy to think about as an option based on our history there.

It was also really, really bad fortune that a foul was called in the first place, along with about 3-4 other calls gifted to Notre Dame after that.

I wasn't following the game thread but assume I'm in the minority in thinking that was a foul...I'll go back and watch it again but I've seen it probably 4 times
