Then why did you say you cared what the basketball community says?

People need to accept if our fanbase is the only one calling us a blue blood. It's more likely our fanbase is delusional than everybody else is wrong.

As soon as you accept mediocrity you stop being a blue blood. We accepted mediocrity about 20 years ago.

Arguing semantics at this point. You view the terms "blueblood" and "elite" as mutually exclusive... I see a difference in the 2. No big deal. We are on the same side. We both agree that Indiana is in dire need of a capable coach. All the infrastructure is in place to be elite again. Go get a coach.

I open this thread multiple times a day.  Every time I open it I'm hoping the thread's name has been changed to "Tom Crean has been fired".  I'm so sick of the disappointments it's not even funny.  I seriously can't stand to watch this brand of basketball anymore.  Please Glass fire Crean because like Josh says "this is embarrassing".

I'm not watching till he's gone. Unfortunately he was big ten coach of the year last year I think and is using these injuries as excuses

I got bored so I made my "short" list of guys I wouldn't mind getting the job

Tier 1: reasons are obvious
Brad Stevens
Billy Donovan
Tony Bennett
Scott drew
Sean Miller
Tier 2: mostly young semi proven coaches
Dana Altman
Archie Miller
Chris holtmann
Fred hoiberg
Tier 3: young coaches with lots of potential
Dick pitino
josh pastner
Chris Collins
Frank Martin
Gregg Marshall
Tier 5: just guys I'd rather have than crean
Avery Johnson
Mike brey
Bryce drew
Brad underwood
Mike Hall
If you want my justification for any of them just ask. Didn't feel like doing it for all of them and didn't want this to be too long

While Sean Miller would be an upgrade over Crean I'm not sure Scott Drew would. What's the justification for Drew?

No I think they are different. I just don't think they can be different for an entire generation before the one has faded.

He current has the 5th best adjusted defensive rating, the 19th best adjusted offense, he's pretty young (46) so still room to grow as a coach, would have an easier time recruiting (more consistency and higher recruits in general)
Has an Indiana connection that high school coaches in the state would (probably) love,
Has developed players pretty well (Pierre Jackson stands out to me), he basically built Baylor up to what it is today, has made 3 elite 8s (may not be good enough for some of you but it's a hell of a lot better than two sweet 16 oustings), and to be completely transparent I have a personal bias to him because my grandparents are friends with his mom and dad or something like that.

He's built a solid team this season but has been up and down too much for my liking. I believe he's also been involved in some shady stuff. Three elite eights are solid though.

I don't think he's a great coach but 3 elite eights is still three more than IU will ever see with Crean
