As doom and gloom rages thru this thread.  Let us not forget the good things.  The massive cookout we had planned when crean gets fired.  My wedding with all of u as my groomsmen in candy stripped tuxes paid for by my fiancés credit card.  Just because Glass and Crean aren't true Hoosiers obviously doesn't mean we aren't!  We ride on boys!!

Why do you guys think them turning down a home game means he is gone? If anything I think it means the opposite. They will announce he is returning the day of the game. We will be on the road so it shields him from the home crowd backlash. Be it boos or a crowd the size of what you would find at a Cannelton High School home game. 

This was my initial reaction as well. I heard it and expected his Crean support announcement on Monday. A shield.

First off, it's been too long since I've seen you! Secondly, if we get Donovan I wouldn't even oppose a 3 year contract @ Rupp!! You've been very quiet about what you think is going to happen, what are you realistic expectations as far as CTC staying or leaving (with replacement)?

I believe (no inside sources) 100 percent he is gone and he should be gone. Up until a couple years ago I was on the Crean train due to his restoring standards and respectability to the program and getting us back to conference titles and sweet 16's but there has been no consistency and he has not shown he can get us all the way back--and he has had plenty of time to do it. I will always appreciate his part and his years with our academics, graduation rates, player development, for Zeller, Oladipo, the Wat shot, Zeisloft, Yogi, etc., as there have been some truly great players and great times. Unlike some --I don't hate Crean and I like his Christian and family values but in the end he had to win big at IU as that is what he is paid to do and that is what we expect at IU which in my book is an elite program. It is time for a change. Year in and year out we just do not consistently play defense well enough to win 6 games in a row which we have to do to get banner number 6. I used to say only change coaches if we can get a homerun hire--but now I am even willing to take a chance on what would be seen as a lateral move. We need new blood. He gave it his best--he busted his butt --he got us a lot of the way back after the Sampson disaster--but he just couldn't finish the job. And yes--we sure had a lot of injuries that haunted us during his tenure but that cannot be a perpetual excuse. I hope Crean is successful wherever he goes. We just need someone who will finish the job . I don't know who that will be but I will back the new coach 100 percent. HOOSIERS FOREVER!

They didn't think the AH renovations excuse over that well. Those are something that are obviously planned and ongoing, so you'd think it would have been disclosed/leaked that we would be deferring a potential NIT first round game at least a few days in advance.

As to the motivation for such cowardice, it's 50/50 in my book right now.

I don't trust that guy, he recently started posting, and has been adamant that Crean is gone, and Donovan will replace him.  Says he's had solid information for years, but just now decided to post.  That being said I sure hope he's right.. but again I don't trust him.

Overrated. There is good reason Duke and some of the other Top schools didn't offer him.

We wouldn't have liked how he played anyway.

Crazy his ranking stayed high. That 6'7" shooter tag carries a lot of weight.

The 'renovations' was a mistake by ESPN. IU has said from the get go from moments after the bracket went out that 'it was due to students being on break'. Not sure if this is a good excuse but no one at IU every tried to put something out there about renovations.
