Agree, I doubt he would leave Kansas for IU, but IMO this is the kind of thinking Glass/the admin need. If/when IU moves on from Crean I wouldn't be upset with a Holtman type hire, he seems like he can really coach, but I hope it would be after some really creative and aggressive thinking. 

Make runs at Stevens, Donovan, Self and some other legit/top flight guys. Get creative and make them say no. You never know!

If we still end up with a Holtman or Archie Miller, so be it I can still get behind and excited about that. But, I'd like to see aggressive, creative thinking first.

This is where I am.  I'd be thrilled with Holtmann, just not as option 1.

My first call would be to Stevens with a godfather type offer, he is an absolute perfect fit.  Don't go in with the mindset there's no way he'd take the job, go in with the mindset that we're going to get our guy.

2 page article from June of 2016 about his extension. Read about why Ainge made the extension. You ask him, but there is no chance he is leaving that situation.

I don't even see us making the NCAA this season unless we turn it around fast! So tired of the disappointment with such talent. Thomas Bryant is horrible this year, Josh N shouldn't be a starter. Crean has no clue !! I'd play Davis anytime over Bryant right now !!!!!

of the two, I think Donovan might be more inclined to consider returning to college coaching in the next year or two than Stevens, given the likely immediate futures of the 2 franchises after Durant's exit. Hoiberg may be looking by then too, but I'm not completely sold on him as a college coach.

I doubt if any change is made, or even contemplated, until 2018. Which means Glass may feel he needs to give TC a (hopefully limited) extension at the end of this season to "help recruiting" etc. (sigh)

I think the A.D. is concerned enough about public relations and media reactions that he won't remove Crean one year after a conference championship unless there's a complete implosion. Even if Anunoby, Bryant and Blackmon all leave.

Holtmann, A. Miller, Mack are all good coaches but not home run hires, which is what IU would desperately need if and when Crean's replaced (i.e., Stevens, Donovan, T. Bennett, S. Miller, maybe G. Marshall). I don't think T. Bennett or S. Miller would be interested and I'm not sure how Marshall and Glass would get along,

If the rumors are true that Glass & the Admin don't want another coach who's "bigger than the program" (not sure why not; that description fits K, Self, Cal, Pitino, Wright, Williams too, and those programs are doing OK) then perhaps in 2018 IU will hire Holtmann or A. Miller and hope for the best. 

Assuming they're still coaching at Butler and Dayton in 2018, that is. For all I know Holtmann could be at Illinois and A. Miller at Ohio State by then....

I don't think Crean is seeking attention, I think he legitimately cannot control himself in those situations. See the Michigan game blow up a few years back. The dude is a balloon constantly on the verge of popping. So high strung.
