  1. We’ll always have the exhibition win over Tennessee two years ago

  3. It’s a huge no thanks from me. He was one of the reasons I thought UK might struggle this year. I don’t believe he’s a team first guy, I also don’t think he shots it well enough. I’d prefer someone else spend big for him.

  6. Cruddy finish in St John's Duke... it looks like these games take a lot out of Pitino :/ I know he's kind of a villain to some people yet I just can't help but like the guy.

  7. I just went through 17 pages and only saw Pam Whitten mentioned once. I could be wrong because it was a quick glance and I didn't fully read every comment. But it's nuts not to recognize the value of leadership from the top. When she became the 19th president of IU on July 1, 2021 is when the budget, spotlight, and resources shifted to the true revenue maker in college sports. She understood this on day one. No other president in the history of the school ever made such a paradigm shift for the university. And it paid off. It didn't happen over night, if you recall IUFB shook the trees for a couple of years prior to Curt Cignetti. They, meaning the top brass (Whitten and Dolson), built the infrastructure, hired the right staff, moved to contemporary jobs, and, most importantly, raised the funds that were needed. Once that happened, they did the coaching search. It took roughly 4 years to get to the point where IUFB is today. I firmly believe had any IUFB coach gone 6-6 or 7-6 over the last two years he'd be in an incredibly hot seat right now. The vision isn't 6-6 and that started when Whitten got hired. The brand isn't 6-6. Having a shot at the CFP is the brand. Understand this. Bloomington is now a place to be on Saturday's during the Fall. 50, 60 thousands come in and basically get a Little 5 every home game. This is the IU student experience today. The fans are showing up! This is her vision. Whitten and Dolson aren't done. IUBB will reap the benefits of her vision. Revenue. Revenue from IUFB will help this process. If DeVries doesn't produce to a standard, he'll be gone. That's the M.O. of this current administration, as it should be in my opinion. Coaching matters. You either have it or you don't. Is the IUBB culture dead? No. Does it need a jolt? Yes. But make no mistake, the top brass isn't treating IUBB like an intramural sport. Give it time and have faith.

Had to post this for the amusement value. That Stevens thing sound familiar? And I don’t buy for a second that any of those guys “have reached out”, though they might listen. See, fanbase coaching lunacy is not confined to this fanbase alone.

It’s been a minute since I’ve wanted to see a coming together as much as the Duke whistle and Dan Hurley. There is a perfectly reasonable chance he gets tossed.

  13. Couldn’t disagree more. Beat NW at home and beat Iowa or Nebraska at home and you’re above .500. Maybe not likely but definitely not “the absolute ceiling” for a good coach. The roster wasn’t great but neither was the coaching.

  14. No doubt. We haven’t had the level of PG needed since Yogi. And we wonder why we’ve been missing tournaments left and right. Don’t even get me started on our choices last season. Coaching too. and Sadly it appears McCollum is the Cignetti of basketball coaching. 1 great player, 1 really good player and they are on the verge of the final 4. Really rivals our football story.

What in the hell is MSU doing? Down by 3 with 22 seconds left, so you just dribble around in circles for 16 seconds, then launch an off-balance prayer from 24 feet? WTF!

  24. 100%. Seems like every time we have missed the tournament since the Knight era it's been for one of 3 reasons...no PG, no shooting, or no size. Gotta have all 3.

That team had length, front court depth, 3-point shooting, a bulldog for a point guard, and a do-it-all NBA bound player in Jeffries. That's the formula to replicate.

  26. Yea, let's see if Iowa goes undefeated and wins it all. CBB is a sideshow compared to CFB. You really can't compare them. Some of our fans don't appreciate what happened in football.

  35. On paper Purdue should be toast. But they have a senior laden team. The two biggest matchups Braden and TKR could be won by Purdue largely because KoanPeat is a frosh. That leaves the Burries Loyer matchup. Should be AZ by a mile there , but Burries has a tendency to be a little streaky—although less so as the season has worn on. If Burries is just off and PU wins the other two matchups, they could win it. Honestly, AU should take it no problem on paper. I think they will, personally.

  36. If the game is officiated fairly Purdue will lose for sure. If they allow all the hooks, holds, and shoves Purdue has a shot.

  39. This one might be worth keeping an eye on: Toledo PG Leroy Blyden entering the portal. Freshman of the year in the MAC averaged 16pts/4rebs/4.5asts on 46/41/85 shooting splits. Better than 2/1 asst/to as a freshman. With 3 years of eligibility imagine he will be in high demand and as a Detroit kid and with Fears graduating it certainly feels like an MSU thing, but we’ll see.

  43. cbbanalytics.com would have it, but the individual player shots by region are locked behind a paywall. I can tell you that as a team, Indiana shot 37 % on corner threes and 32% on non-corner threes.

  44. Aubree Hooks no-hits Detroit Mercy and the Hoosiers take an 8-0 win. She walked just 1 in facing 19 batters throwing 76 total pitches. We had 8 hits from 8 different players. Kettleman tonight's RBI leader with 2. Saturday's game set for 2:00.

  47. Given the amount of time that's passed from the initial transfer announcement to Chloe's announcement today I wonder what's happened in that period of time. If she planned to portal I would have expected her announcement around the same time as the other 3. Has she been urged to look elsewhere because our staff is that confident we've got some incoming transfers signed, sealed and just waiting to deliver? Had she planned to portal all along and her agent has been working to find her a new home which is now in place? Inquiring minds want to know.

  48. The fact that Cig name-checks Whitten and Dolson in about every big interview is what gives me confidence. If THAT guy thinks they’re important and have the right stuff then who am I to disagree. My only hope is that the football natty gives them enough rope to tell the board and other basketball meddlers to back off so they can do what needs to be done. Cig is the younger generations Knight. Hopefully he gives the younger fans the confidence that we can also compete at the highest level in basketball.

  49. Dreadful year for Indiana fans. Two coaching possibilities one in the elite 8 first year. The other maybe the best team in the country. And Purdue to another Elite 8. Pain
