  1. I mean do we want to promote the party lifestyle as a key recruiting tactic? We want grinders not party animals. I’m sure they will all have their fun but let’s not make it a key selling point. Sell basketball first.

  2. Josh Harris averaged 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds in just 22.5 minutes as a freshman. Against power five teams -- four games against South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Nebraska: four games: 22 mpg, 11.5 points, 5 rebounds, 19 of 33 from the field (58%).

  3. I added some color coding to make it a little easier to get insight at a glance. Going to continue tinkering with this as we finalize the class and hopefully the finished product will be more informative. In terms of what I make of this so far, nothing really new per se. We have pretty dang solid shooting. Overall, I feel good but mildly skeptical about defense and rebounding because those are fairly big question marks on paper right now. I'm not personally too concerned about that though because A) take some of those advanced metrics with a big grain of salt B) I think DDV's filtering for intensity / work ethic C) While some obvious question marks with guys translating up a level, I do think there's going to be decent size and length on the roster when it's said and done. Athleticism is a little bit of a question I think. Still three spots to fill. DDV should be able to work it out. I think Conerway could be a fan favorite. He was third overall in SPG last year in CBB. He's currently got the second highest ORB% rate (which is lower than you'd want your 2nd best ORB to be, but is pretty good for a guard I think) so I think we're going to really appreciate his playmaking and hustle. Very curious about the minute split between him and Enright (I have a strong-ish preference after looking at this data) and between Miles / Dorn. If we are going to exceed expectations this year I think at least one of them has to be a more than solid contributor. We really need Conerway and Bailey to translate. I think DeVries and Wilkerson will be great as expected.

    2025-2026 IU Roster

I wanted a central way to look our new roster's stats/metrics and thought others may find the same view interesting. Probably going to tinker with some filters / formats for scanability. May add some more columns so happy to take requests. If I have time later, I will add comparison points to show where their stats compare vs. CBB average / leaders. 2025-2026 IUMBB Roster Overview All stats come from sports-reference.com. Five tabs at the top: Player rank/overview Last year basic stats Last year advanced stats Career shooting Career advanced stats Not interested in debating the validity of some of the advanced stats (BPM and WS have known flaws). The main ones I pay attention to are eFG%/TS%, TOV%, Free Throw Rate (FTr), and DRB% / ORB%

  8. Our men's golf team picked up a point in the Governor's Cup competition finishing 8th in the B1G tournament but the win was only by 3 strokes over PUke who finished in 9th place. Next event in the competition is softball May 2-4.

  9. 1. Baba Miller or Fed2 or unknown Big Euro if one exists that’s ripe for the plucking. 2. love the potential from that Greek kid. I want him. But we are paper thin at the 5 so Leo Curtis would make a bunch of sense. And would balance classes a bit if people are still worried about that. I personally think class balance is a bit of relic until the transfer portal calms down.

  12. It's that it probably isn't a factor (or much of one) to today's players. They are interested in $, PT, their role and how it can help them in the future. These are no longer "student athletes" - they're professional basketball players who may attend classes (and that's fine).

  22. I’d say yes. Our best teams had some party animals. Players are still 18-22 yr olds and they can’t play bball 24/7. May as well go to school somewhere that’s a good time. We can sell both bball and IU being really fun. With the right team culture, players can be trusted to party in moderation and at the appropriate times. Just my opinion. Update: @Asha’man the board clearly agrees with you! I could be wrong on this one...

Thank you for putting this together and sharing. Having said all of that...now for the big question. What do you make of this? And how much time did you take putting it together? Can't wait for the season to start to evaluate if the coach was successful in meshing gym rats with a hungry chip on their shoulders with sharing the ball with good basketball IQs. Feeling it a little...

  26. Rabby says that Josh Harris wants to come to IU but interpreting one of his typically vague posts, it sounds like IU might be waiting on some others before taking him. "Several things still to play out." A bit undersized for a center unless he's very athletic, which I haven't seen that he is. Can possibly play that position in a pinch, but it's not ideal. Not a done deal. Others have jumped in to the recruitment.

  27. He’s selling clicks. It’s all he has left after trashing his career. He needs manufactured outrage to stay in the dim spotlight he has left. He’s not even that good at it but “kids” “boomers” and “idiots” fall for it. No legit people even pay attention to him.

  30. IU women get swept by Oregon losing today's game 9-7. We trailed 8-2 going into our 6th where we scored 3 but Oregon got another run in it's 7th and we could only get 2 more in our final at bat. Oregon torched 3 Hoosier pitchers for 17 hits with Copeland getting the worst of it. She pitched 4.1 innings and allowed 4 runs on 11 hits. We got 12 hits of our own mostly coming from the bottom of the order. Bird had 3 and Wilkison and Strader each with 2. Bird had 4 RBI. No mid-week game. Next weekend is the B1G regular season ending series at West Laffy. PUke (26-20) (8-11). All 3 available on B1G+. Live Stats

  35. Got to see him play in a showcase event in January and I like that kid a good bit. Worth keeping long-term tabs on. Different sort of player, but it’s not hard to see him take a Javon Small sort of path where he starts at a mid-major and by his junior year he’s a pretty popular portal option for power conference schools

  37. Oregon is ranked #7 for a reason. They won today's game 9-1 as we managed just 6 hits off Oregon pitching. On the flip side, they got 11 hits of which 4 were extra bases. Reyes started and didn't make it out of the 1st inning giving up 5 runs on 6 hits. Try to salvage the final game of the weekend tomorrow.

  40. I’ve come around to this. When a legitimate commentator makes a good faith argument / point that you want to push back on and defend yourself, that’s fair. Dakich is just a professional troll trying to drag people into drama. You ignore that like he’s a petulant child, because he is.

  45. THAT argument I can somewhat understand, but none of us have been in the position that the kids on the team had to deal with the past year (two years for some). It takes a tremendous toll on the psyche of the team, and whatever you can do to help your team and improve the locker room dynamic, you do it. I never took Luke Goode's comments as "taking shots" at the fans. I understood that he was just trying to stick up for his coaches and teammates, because they needed it at the time. I didn't like it. He could've worded it better. But I also think that the things we saw him do in games to coach up his teammates and give effort and focus at crucial moments demonstrated that he is the sort of player that any smart coach would want on their team. He's a glue guy and a vocal leader. And I think that's what he was trying to do when he made those comments, ill-advised as they may have been. I'm more than happy to put those comments in the rearview mirror, but he'd be welcomed back with open arms in my book.
