  6. Still nothing to suggest this isn't IU. It is as it stands, but UCLA has a bit of pull here with the family. Something would have to change for it to swing that way but it did for Wilkes in Aug/Sept. Every recruitment is different, so I hate bringing that up...suppose that's paranoia.

  8. Andrew Slater‏ @Andrew__Slater 1 Late rising 6’6” Gerald Drumgoole’19 of @TheCityRocks has earned offers from Maryland & Georgia this weekend, in addition to earlier ones from Buffalo & Hofstra and recent interest from Indiana & Michigan State. Planning unofficial visits to Buffalo & Maryland in the near future. He's from Rochester, NY and just 2 days ago announced he's strongly considering transferring to Laporte Lalumiere for his senior season. He played AAU for The City Rocks along with Isaiah Stewart who's already at Lalumiere and of course Keion Brooks, Jr., just announced that's where he'll play this winter..

Pretty big leap there to get "people who don't think ignoring domestic is a big deal" out of "firing people for accusations is a slippery slope". Sure, it's not the legal system, so "innocent until proven guilty" isn't at play, but I don't want to live in a society where someone can lose everything because of a mere allegation. Apparently that's an extremist view these days. It's incredibly easy to make something up. Someone could come into your work Monday morning and say "Brass Cannon abused me" without any proof. Would you want to be fired when you didn't do anything?

  11. Indiana (historically) doesn't have to cheat to compete, but, as with those cheating schools, we've still gotta have a great coach! I'm hoping we have that solved now, for the next 3 decades.

The drawn-out last 5 mins. of a game is part of basketball. This would absolutely suck if they adopt this!

  16. Just thinking..... Without recruits we could start Green Durham Smith Hunter Forrester/DDavis We don’t have to land 3 5 stars. Getting 2 to “replace” Morgan and Romeo would be awfully nice though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

He fired him 3 days later. Isn't that setting a good example? There are two sides to this story. It was a marriage going bad. It sounds like both husband and wife behaved badly. It happens.

I wasn't really talking about the OSU situation though, just more generally about the larger issue. What Meyer did or did not do, who knows. I don't expect him to get fired and if he does he'll have another job within a week

  35. Better competition on a daily basis, improved coaching and development to get him ready for the next level(s), chance to play more top level players from all over the country during the season, easier transition to college life. That’s what this is about, it has nothing to do with offers or any of that. KBJ could probably go to any school he wanted if he showed interest. This is about him wanting to get better and prepare for the future more. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  36. I agree completely. There are many, many bright kids at IU. With such a large enrollment of course there will be bright ones. However, there are also many students that shouldn't be there. They spend every night partying, they skip most of their classes, and they fail out after a semester or two. IU doesn't care, they still got their money. They just replace those students the next year. I love IU, and I loved my four years of undergrad in Bloomington. I can honestly say that there isn't another school in the country I would rather have attended. I had great professors, I received a great education, and I had a ton of fun. It's just not an 'elite school' in the traditional sense, and it won't ever be one until they change their admission standards.

  37. I've heard he will narrow his list to 3 at beginning of September and will include IU, MSU, and Purdue...heard this yesterday and TJD posted today so there may be some truth to it. From what it sounded like is that he knows where he's going but wants to enjoy the process. Archie brought the whole squad to talk with TJD in Ft Wayne. Take it fwiw Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  39. IU accepts more than 70% of its applicants. Its average SAT and ACT scores aren't elite. It's not a top academic institution. I'm surprised that this is a controversial thing to say.

  42. It's also interesting to see the shift in recruiting. Archie clearly focuses on the upcoming class ('19) while doing some evaluation/recruiting on the next. Under Crean, IU being on a kid for 4 years or so never really panned out. Honestly, it wore on the kids and they soured. I like the approach and expect IU to follow '19 hard this month. IU is going to have to look outside the state for '20
