I wonder if a lot of these issues would go away if they got rid of the weekly ranking show. Maybe drop something like the NET to give people an idea of how teams may be sorted, but you only see the bracket when it drops on Sunday. No CFP poll, just coaches and AP, and then some sort of metric that isn’t a true poll. Think FPI or something like that. I may be missing something here though.

ESPN probably gets big ratings on that Tuesday show so obviously it won’t go away, but imagine the CBB selection committee dropping a tentative bracket through January and February. It would be a disaster.

Report on Dawgnation.com is that he is getting a second opinion, so I would assume the UCL rumor is true.  And if it's true, it doesn't matter what opinion any doctor offers him, he can't throw.

Current rumor is that UNC has made a big push but Belichick has not agreed to anything.

Another rumor out there is that the hang up might be that Belichick basically wants complete control of the football program with no interference from the athletic department...and that could be his way of trying to set his son up to inherit the position.

Belichick will be 73 by the time next season starts. Why is it so hard for that generation to just retire and be done with it?

ESPN probably wants to keep the show and gets good ratings.

Since there are complaints about teams being left out of the  68 team NCAA basketball tourney I assume there will continue to be football playoff complaints each year.

Something I would like to see is setting up 2 bowl games for the teams that lose in the first round. So they still get a bowl game

I mean, it would at least offer extra revenue and TV exposure so those teams could finish the season on a high note.

Well my thinking to is a lot of it is an experience for the players. For that big neutral field event atmosphere. IU and Notre Dame players are now rewarded with a wonderful trip to South Bend.  And after we beat them ND players won’t even get a chance to escape south bend for a little bit

North Carolina letting 73 year old Mack Brown and going after 73 year old Bill Belichick.

For Belichick, this sounds more about ego than sound decision.

Of all the problems every state faces, this is clearly the one that should be at the top of the importance pyramid.   

Ohio state Rep. Josh Williams, introduced the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act Tuesday... The act would make it a felony offense to plant a flag in the center of Ohio Stadium.

I would like to think that his son could get a college HC'ing job on his own.
