I do love the drama of CFB.  Clemson plays LSU this week.

I think LSU is gonna blink and back down on these NFL guys.  The benefit of the players they want on their roster isn't worth the all the downsides of fighting to keep them.

But, then again, it's LSU, so if anyone was going to be stupid, it's them.

As I’ve pointed out several times, expanding the playoffs means decreasing the value of the regular season which means increasing the value of playing a good OOC opponent.  
 

There will be no “saving ourselves for the tourney.” The TV/fans won’t allow a watered down regular season plus big name schools spending the first 3 weeks playing Kenesaw St.

He’s a weapons-grade s**tbird who cares about nobody except himself, and that includes his own family.  When most coaches are trying to find some semblance of sanity or equilibrium, he’s happy driving the whole thing to the bottom for his own gain.

Judge sides with SEC on first issue as LSU-related eligibility hearing continues

The Baton Rouge judge ruled most plaintiffs cannot pursue claims against the SEC because they have no direct connection to the conference. What to know:

• A Baton Rouge judge sided with the SEC on the first issue Thursday.
• Athletes without SEC ties will not pursue claims against the conference.
• SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey took the stand Thursday.
• The larger fight over fifth-year eligibility is continuing.
• LSU faces a Friday roster deadline before Saturday’s game against Clemson.

The case involves 44 athletes challenging college eligibility rules. Only seven have ties to the SEC and remain in position to pursue claims against the conference. Two of those players have immediate implications for LSU’s roster.

Seeing unconfirmed reports that Sankey has been getting dog walked during this hearing. Allegedly couldn't define "amateurism" or answer a question about overseas players and said he doesn't know what defines a pro in that instance. Then said this isn't an issue of being a pro athlete.
