This is exactly what the B1G, and every other conference for that matter, want. Meaningful games being played on the final week of the regular season. 3 teams with conference championship games on the line. Remarkably happy for myself and all of you that we can sit back and watch with zero stress as we've already sharpied our spot. Personally, I'd prefer a UM win and Oregon loss.

The Texas narrative right now is pi$$ing me off to no end. “Oh, if they hadn’t had the ball$ to play OSU early they’d be in after A&M. So they really should be anyway and not penalized for it.” Stop it. If they hadn’t lost to a 3 win team with no HC and scored a late one so it didn’t look so bad and then gotten straight beat down by UGA they’d be in. Here’s my solution: if you lose 3 games, 25% of your schedule, you should be ineligible for the playoff. Period. No exceptions.  If you’ve lost 1/4 of your games you don’t get to pray that you get on a heater late and compete with teams who’ve made it happen all year. If they get in I don’t even know what to say.

The only upside is that if they let Texas in maybe they screw Notre Dame. Or more apt give Notre Dame what they deserve.  Their Marque win against Pitt and all

Wasn't that momentous Lane Kiffin decision suppose to come today???

Got to say, if Kiffin takes the LSU gig while pushing to coach in the playoffs and Ole Miss tells him to F off and rolls with an interim they will immediately leap to 2nd in my personal rooting order. My loathing for Kiffin outstrips my loathing for the SEC.

Yea.  If Lane goes I think they will tell him to leave.  It’s an absurd conflict of interest and a poll of ADs 100% said you take another job you’re out.

The only people pushing the “let him coach” angle seem to be ESPN/GameDay — it appears Jimmy Sexton/CAA got to ‘em.  Which is pathetic on their part -- par for the course at this point really.

ESPN says Kiffin will take LSU gig.

If that happens and I'm Ole Miss, I say: Pack up and get out. Absolutely no way I let him coach in the playoff, especially because he's gonna try to take players with him to Baton Rouge.

That’s quite a stunner. I don’t know if the guy fits a clinical definition of sociopath but if you look at his public life I’m not sure how it diverges.

The ****** is strong with that one. LSU & Kiffin deserve each other and I hope it fails spectacularly.

If he was going to the NFL? MAYBE. But he's going to rival a few hours away that Ole Miss plays annually. No way you reward that.

Am I the only one who didn’t know that Notre Dame and PU play for this thing? The Jeweled Shillelagh! Are you kidding me? That’s the worst trophy I’ve ever seen.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - this drama and ****arey make me appreciate Cig and Crew even more.  The man is just a ball coach, and he surrounds himself with ball coaches.

'We finish one play at a time, six seconds a play.  Every play has a life and a history of its own.  You finish, and its not affected by success, not affected by failure, and then on to the next play.'

Looking at the CCG slate, and there is a very real chance that if Duke beats Virginia and wins the ACC next week, that the 4th and 5th highest rated CFP conference champions could come from a combination of Sunbelt (JMU), American (Tulane or North Texas) or MWC (UNLV) leaving the ACC without a representative.

There is a wild butterfly effect that could come to life...old friends Frank Reich and Andrew Luck's Stanford Cardinal crush Cal 31-10 in the Big Game, Cal promptly fires HC Wilcox, Cal comes together and beats SMU keeping SMU out of the ACC championship game and opening the the door for Duke, Duke beats Virginia and sends 2 G5's to the CFP.

I think it would be cool if one of them made it in over the ACC champ.
